Please get in touch to discuss sessions or ask any questions. I know how daunting it can be to reach out for support, and how frustrating it is when enquiries go unanswered. I always endeavour to respond to every enquiry as quickly as possible, so you won’t be left waiting.
About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Kate, and I offer counselling to individuals and couples who want a bit of space to think, feel, and figure things out. You might be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or unsure where to begin. You don’t need to have it all worked out before coming to therapy. That’s what we’ll explore together.
I work in a calm, supportive, and relaxed way, creating a space where you can be yourself without pressure or judgement. Whether you're coming alone or with your partner, we’ll work together to better understand what’s going on, untangle what’s getting in the way, and move towards the changes you want to see.
You might be going through a big life shift, like becoming a parent, ending or repairing a relationship, navigating loss, or changing careers. Life can feel messy and uncertain during these times, and it’s okay to reach out for support.
As well as being a therapist, I’m also a qualified coach specialising in leadership and personal development, offering coaching packages for those looking for a more structured, goal-focused space.
I create free psychoeducation toolkits, info sheets, and practical resources, drawing on my experience as a counsellor, coach, and learning designer, to make complex concepts easier to understand and give you concrete tools for insight, growth, and healing, whether during sessions, afterwards, or just for a bit of light reading!
Practice description
Life doesn’t come with a manual, and we can all feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected at times. For some, this shows up as stress, self-doubt, or relationship difficulties, even when they seem to be coping. For others, the pain feels deeper, rooted in loss, past experiences, or patterns that are hard to break. You don’t need to be broken to want change; therapy can be a space to put down the mask, explore what’s happening, and create more ease, clarity, and connection.
My approach is integrative, compassionate, and practical. I draw from person-centred therapy (PCT), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), transactional analysis (TA), and Imago Relationship Therapy, blending them in ways that best support you or your relationship.
For individuals, person-centred therapy provides a space to be fully heard. CBT helps untangle unhelpful thought and behaviour patterns. TA explores how past experiences shape your present relationships. Together, these approaches help bring insight, healing, and meaningful change.
For couples, I often draw on Imago as well as other methods. Imago provides a structured, compassionate framework to move from conflict and disconnection to understanding and safety. I know no single approach works for every couple, so I adapt to your needs; whether you’re feeling distant, stuck, or navigating trust issues or life transitions.
Therapy can be online or in person, short- or long-term. I also offer walking therapy for those who prefer the grounding presence of nature. People come to me with anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, grief, relationship challenges, identity questions, or a desire to reconnect with themselves or each other.
Individual sessions are £60 (55 minutes). Couples work is usually £120 for 90 minutes, often fortnightly; shorter 60-minute sessions are £90. Coaching packages are available - please get in touch for details.
My first session
Starting counselling can feel like a big step, and it’s completely normal to feel nervous or unsure. To help with that, I offer a free 30-minute phone chat so we can get to know each other a little and see if it feels like a good fit.
If you decide to go ahead, our first full session is a gentle introduction. We’ll take time to talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, explore a bit about your background, and look at what you’re hoping to get from the process. We’ll also go through some practical bits like setting boundaries and agreeing how we’ll work together (this is called contracting).
For couples, the initial session is usually 60 minutes to introduce the Imago Dialogue and work together to create a safe space to allow honest communication to start.
There’s no pressure or obligation to continue if it doesn’t feel right for you—it’s really important that you feel safe and comfortable with your therapist.
