About me and my therapy practice
Hello and thank you for visiting my profile.
Modern life is tough! Many of us experience anxiety, difficult relationships, self-doubt, or feeling overwhelmed without fully understanding why. It's a completely natural part of being human.
People respond in different ways. Perhaps you notice a deep desire for human connection but fear of being hurt. Dwelling on situations or avoiding contact, feeling numb or alone.
As a psychotherapist, I specialise in helping people to explore past trauma. By gently and safely helping you to discover the meanings of experiences and early emotional bonds and learning how they might influence your responses in daily life.
Understanding these patterns can help us master skills to heal emotional pain, feel more confident and reconnect with our life in a healthy, rewarding way.
I combine therapeutic approaches from person-centred, attachment-based, and cognitive-behavioural therapy with trauma-informed soothing and mindfulness techniques that reveal the how our mind and body react to our environment.
I hold a BSc in Psychology and an MSc in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy. I have a wide range of experience working within mental health services within the NHS, local charities and community groups, employee assistance programmes, a university counselling team, and through my private practice.

My first session
You need to know if your therapist is the right fit for you.
I offer a free 20 minute telephone consultation.
We can talk things through so that you can decide if you wish to proceed and book a 60 minute assessment session at a time convenient to you.
The assessment session gives us a chance to fully explore your situation, how you are feeling, what has been happening, what you hope to gain from therapy, any concerns or questions.
I will advise on how therapy might help, what to expect, answer any questions and help you to choose the best approach based on your wishes.
You are then free to choose to engage in further therapy sessions with me and we will agree a plan for what you want to achieve and how we will approach it.
