About me and my therapy practice

**Online or face to face in Calverley, Leeds**

If you’re reading this, you may be going through a difficult time. Reaching out for therapy can feel daunting, especially if you’re worried about being judged or misunderstood. I offer a calm, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where you can explore whatever has brought you here, at your own pace.

I know what it’s like to sit in the client’s chair myself. My first experience of therapy brought a huge sense of relief — of not feeling alone anymore — and that experience continues to shape how I work. My aim is to help you feel heard, understood, and supported as we make sense of things together.

I am an integrative counsellor, grounded in person-centred therapy, and I also draw on trauma-informed approaches, psychoeducation, and other therapeutic models where helpful. I’m particularly interested in helping people understand their emotional responses and nervous system, gently reducing shame and self-blame.

I work with adults aged 18+, and welcome people of all genders, sexual orientations, and cultural backgrounds.

I am a neurodivergent therapist and offer neuro-affirming therapy. I understand that we all process the world differently, and I value adapting therapy to suit your communication style, needs, and preferences.

Alongside my private practice, I volunteer at a women’s centre and have a strong interest in feminist and trauma-informed practice, particularly in understanding how social, relational, and systemic factors can impact mental health.

I have experience supporting clients with:

trauma and CPTSD

difficult or adverse childhood experiences

bereavement and loss

separation and divorce

anxiety and depression

low self-worth and shame

neurodiversity

family and relationship difficulties

Practice description

I work online or face to face in Leeds.

My first session

I offer a free 15-minute phone call before starting therapy. This gives you the opportunity to ask any questions, share a little about what’s bringing you to therapy, and get a sense of whether we feel like the right fit for one another. There is no obligation to continue after this call.

If we decide to work together, I will send you a therapy contract and a registration form before our first session. The registration form includes space to share any goals you may have for therapy, as well as some background information. This helps support the therapeutic process, but there is no pressure to complete it in detail — we can always explore things together in session.

Our first session, and all sessions that follow, are focused on building a safe, trusting therapeutic relationship. There is no expectation to share everything straight away. We will move at a pace that feels right for you, with trust and understanding developing over time.
