About me and my therapy practice
Are you ready to embrace a life that feels fulfilling and true to you? I’m here to help you explore your experiences and understand what’s been happening so that we can uncover a path forward that reflects the real you.
Often, the best way forward starts with an exploration of the past. I know how daunting this can be, so I'm here to walk alongside you as we do this at your own pace. Together, we’ll discover how you’ve learned to navigate life and the messages you’ve carried from your experiences. We can work towards releasing the weight of any harmful messages we find and heal the parts of you that hold pain so that you are free to move forward with greater ease and self-compassion.
Having experienced the life-changing benefits of counselling myself, I know how powerful it can be to have someone truly listen and understand. In our weekly sessions, you’ll find a non-judgemental space to explore your emotions, whether you’re facing anxiety, depression, low self-worth, grief, or simply feeling stuck.
When I accessed counselling I found it daunting and overwhelming, so I know it takes time to feel ready. Taking the first step to look online is a great accomplishment, next you can reach out for a free consultation to see how we both feel about working together. When you are ready, I am here.
Practice description
I integrate Person-Centred Counselling, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS). This means that every session is tailored specifically to you and your needs.
Person-Centred Counselling is non-directive, meaning I will follow your lead and use my sensed feeling to reflect your deeper emotions. Person-centred counselling supports you to connect with your authentic self and release internalised beliefs.
CBT is more directive and involves tasks and worksheets that challenge your thinking patterns. While person-centred counselling follows your emotions, CBT follows your thoughts. We will work collaboratively to unpack your experiences and develop new ways of being.
IFS involves looking at all the parts that make up who you are and how you experience the world. I draw on the IFS approach to help us work with your inner system of parts; your internal family. We can visit your parts from a place grounded in compassion, understand their role and heal their pain. IFS supports all of your parts to work together, creating a sense of inner peace and confidence.
My first session
The first session is a gentle space for you to get a feel for how I work, ask questions, and begin to explore whatever feels most present for you.
There’s no need to fill out assessments or questionnaires in your first session, and you never have to share anything with me before you’re ready. I will never expect you to explain every detail of your life because, from the very first session, we’ll focus on your emotional experience and let that guide the pace and direction of our work.

My first session
Before you commit to counselling with me, we will have a video-call, free of charge, to see how we both feel about working together. This will last around 15-20 minutes and provides a chance for you to explain a little more about what is going on for you. I will then explain how I could help and answer any questions you may have before starting counselling with me. Should we feel we are not a good fit for working together, I can refer you on to someone more appropriate.

About me and my therapy practice
I am a counsellor and psychotherapist with a specialty in working with grief. I don't believe that grief is something to heal from or "make better", but there are ways to work with grief that make it easier to live with.
From my personal and professional experiences, I know how impossible it feels to face grief. Or to even allow yourself to feel just a slither of it at times. That is why I work to walk alongside you as you explore how your grief moves through you and I am here to make sure that you do so in a way that is tolerable for you.
This experience will help you to feel safer around grief; to see it as more approachable and less monstrous, so that in time, you can find a way to grow with your grief rather than battle it, hide it or try to escape it.
Practice description
As a bereavement counsellor, I will welcome everything you share about your experience with acceptance and without judgement. Grief can show up in ways that feel strange and wrong at times, but I will never judge any part of your experience.
I aim to provide a sense of companionship as you work with your grief, because I know how scary it feels to even consider looking into that darkness. I believe that grief needs to be held and witnessed so that you can find a way to form a relationship with this part of you.
As well as building a relationship with your grief and finding ways to help you feel soothed, bereavement counselling also involves exploring who you are now. When someone dies, the whole world feels different and it can take time to catch up with that. As we talk, we will learn about how you feel now in this new world, what you need, what you value and what you want.
My first session
Before your first session I offer a free, 20 minute video call to see how we both feel about working together. If we agree to work together, I will send you a therapy contract that we will both sign before you start.
From your first session we will begin to build our therapeutic relationship and explore your feelings through conversation.
