About me and my therapy practice

Thank you for taking the time to visit my Â鶹ԭ´´ directory profile where I hope you’ll discover a little about me, what I might be able to offer to you, as a therapist, and how to contact me for further information.

Although it might be daunting to reach out to someone for support, you’ve already taken a major first step towards exploring, creating change and personal growth in your life.

As a Person-centred Pluralistic Counsellor I offer empathy, understanding and non-directivity to my clients. My role is not to dictate to you how to live, or to define your experiences – it is about providing you (the unique client) with the time and space to consider where you are in life, to evaluate your relationships and to explore behaviours of oneself or others.

I believe it is important that any prospective client feels comfortable about collaborating with me, so that we might establish a way of working that is beneficial to our specific therapeutic relationship – a one-size approach does not fit all.

I am very much client-centered, which means that I am respectful of your capacity to make choices that best suit you and firmly believe in honouring and valuing each client’s autonomy.

Practice description

How might I support you?

I practice from a strong belief in our innate capacity to connect deeply as human beings, to serve each other in our ability to effect positive change and so I consider the person-to-person relationship as key to the therapeutic alliance.

  • Bereavement
  • Cancer

  • Workplace Stress.

+ Metanoia Institute: BSc (Hons) Person-centred Pluralistic Counselling (Advanced Practitioner)
+ Metanoia Institute: Professional Certificate in the Facilitation of Online & Phone Therapy
+ Metanoia Institute: Mental Health Issues in Clinical Assessments
+ Pregnancy & Infant Loss Practitioner (Foundation for Infant Loss)
+ Pre-Trial Therapy (Survivors' Network)
+ Loss & Bereavement Awareness (Cruse)
+ Supporting Survivors of Domestic Abuse (Solace)
+ Suicide Prevention Awareness (Mind)
+ Working with Death, Dying & Loss (St. Christopher's Hospice)

My first session

Just as humans are distinct individuals, therapists also have differing ways of working and what might be preferable or suitable for one person could be incompatible for another.

To answer any questions you may have at this stage and to give you an opportunity to see how you feel about us working together, I offer an initial 15 minute telephone call (free of charge), so please do get in touch and we can determine a mutually convenient time for this to take place. NB: Please use the Contact Form on this page (shown to the left), providing brief details to request a follow-up.

After the initial discussion, should you believe I might be able to help, we can then go ahead and organise a more formal consultation session, which forms the starting point, so that you and I might be able to decide whether we progress.

Thereafter, we will then agree a specific day/time for our sessions to take place, with each appointment lasting for 50 minutes – typically meeting on a weekly basis.

Depending on your particular situation, we can either work in a time-limited approach (usually 6-12 sessions), or on an open-ended basis, adopting a transparent review of needs as the therapeutic relationship develops.

We can meet for as long as you think sessions are useful and the decision to extend, or conclude our time together, rests with you.

General information:

  • Session duration: 50 minutes.
  • Supporting short- and long-term working.
  • Please contact me for fee details and latest availability/timing options.
