About me and my therapy practice
HI, I’m Catherine (she/her), sometimes life can be challenging and everyone experiences times when they may struggle. I offer a safe space for you to explore your feelings and problems and support you through these difficult times. Often past experiences can cause problems and behaviours in the present and together we can explore these to gain new insights and clarity.
I have over 10 years’ experience of working in mental health services including the voluntary and health and wellbeing sectors. I have worked for Mind and the NHS alongside my own private practice. I bring an empathic and sensitive approach to our work together with warmth, understanding and grounded authenticity. I trust in the transformative effects of feeling heard and valued by someone who cares and offer an environment which reflects this to help you explore your thoughts and feelings without judgement.
Practice description
I offer in person counselling sessions in Manchester as well as online.
I have a person centred approach and work in a way that suits you rather than being fixed to one specific mode of therapy. I believe that every person and issue should be treated on an individual basis and encourage personal expression and growth. I can help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself by integrating a variety of techniques. such as proven self – help/CBT techniques, mindfulness and relaxation and exploration of the shadow self to help you overcome challenges and gain deeper personal understanding.
I have extensive experience supporting a diverse range of clients from all backgrounds and ages and have supported clients to explore and overcome a wide range of issues such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, grief, bereavement, loss, anger and burnout in order to create a more fulfilling life.
Sessions are tailored to suit you and I work flexibly to accommodate your individual needs. Sessions can be a mix of in-person and online and there are no minimum or maximum amount.
My first session
I offer a free 20 -minute telephone consultation prior to any commitment. This is an informal chat to help understand what you're going through and to see if I am the best person to support you. We will then arrange our first appointment.
