About me and my therapy practice
Welcome! My name is Gemma and I am an Integrative Psychotherapist. In my private practice, I work with children, young people, adults and parents online.
I offer 1:1 sessions to children aged 10+ (due to the nature of online work), young people/adolescents, and adults. I also work with parents and children collaboratively.
I offer consultations to parents and organisations. Within these sessions I offer a space where we think through in-depth what might be going on for you and your child. This will also offer you a space to reflect on your parenting style and your own experience of being parented in a non-judgmental, safe way. This can be a one-off consultation for an hour and a half or ongoing work.
Finding a therapist can be overwhelming, especially if you are new to therapy. It takes courage to take the first step and it is important that you find the right person for you. I provide a friendly and confidential space for exploration of who you are and where any difficulties come from, in a way that is tailored to you.
Practice description
I work in an integrative way, where I draw from a wide variety of approaches that best suit each client. I hold carefully in mind each client's uniqueness and individuality, offering a range of methods and styles that work best for that person. This may be through talking, but it might also be through a variety of other methods of creativity such as art, imagery, or sand tray work. Some clients may find it hard to express their feelings verbally, or use verbal language to stay away from difficult feelings, therefore these alternative methods help them to explore their inner world in a way that they are most comfortable with.

The therapeutic relationship is at the core of my work and I believe it is key to create a place where you and/or your child feels warmly welcomed and accepted for who you/they are.
Each client is unique and so is my approach to therapy. I value making our work easy to understand and easy to apply to your day-to-day life. My work is led by your needs and wants and is adapted so that you have full flexibility in how we work. I want our work to be impactful for you, and value your voice and feedback.
I have much experience working with Children in Care, childhood trauma, neurodiversity and learning disabilities as well as presenting needs such as self-harm, anxiety, low mood, and feeling stuck.
