About me and my therapy practice
I’m a Â鶹Դ´-registered psychotherapist with over fifteen years of clinical experience working exclusively with gay men. Psycosme is the practice I built because the existing ones weren’t working, not for the clients I was seeing, and not in ways that could be fixed by adjusting the therapist’s personal politics.
I’m precise rather than warm. The work is rigorous and I don’t mistake comfort for progress. Clients describe sessions as unusually direct , and that the directness is what made things move.
I work online with gay men across the UK and Europe in clinical therapy,
Practice description
Three guiding principles describe my practice.
01 — Minority Stress
Gay men experience elevated rates of anxiety, depression, shame, and relational difficulty, not because something is wrong with them but because they have grown up and continue to live in settings that produce specific, measurable psychological costs. Naming the structure is the first thing that changes the experience of it.
02 — Attachment Theory
The way you were taught to manage closeness, visibility, and need in early environments continues to play out in your adult relationships. Attachment theory gives us the language to understand why intimacy triggers withdrawal, why reassurance doesn’t reassure, and why patterns repeat despite your full awareness of them.
03 — Recognition
Insight alone doesn’t produce change. But accurate recognition does. This is why I work on formation rather than symptom management. The symptom is the least interesting part of what’s happening.
My first session
All sessions are held over a secure video call, so you can feel comfortable knowing your privacy is protected. You just need a quiet spot, a reliable internet connection, and 50 minutes set aside for yourself. Research shows that online therapy works just as well as meeting in person, no matter why you’re seeking support.
We’ll begin with a 20-minute intro session, and there’s no pressure to commit. This is simply an opportunity for an open, honest conversation to see if this approach looks right for you and if we both feel comfortable working together. eeYou decide if you want to continue.
