Availability
I currently have availability for new clients and offer online psychotherapy sessions in Polish.
At present, I work exclusively with Polish-speaking clients living in the UK, Poland and other countries.
Morning appointments are usually the most readily available, although some afternoon and evening sessions may also be offered depending on current availability.
About me and my therapy practice
Our responses often begin to make sense when we understand them in the context of the life we have lived. What may seem difficult or confusing today may once have been the best way of coping with experiences that felt overwhelming.
I am an integrative psychotherapist and a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (M麻豆原创). I have over seven years of experience and more than 5,000 hours of clinical work with adults and young people experiencing relational trauma, anxiety, chronic stress, relationship difficulties, life crises and the lasting effects of difficult childhood experiences.
In my work, I try to understand the person before focusing on the symptoms. Rather than asking only, 鈥淲hat is wrong?鈥, I am often more interested in the question: 鈥淲hy might this way of responding once have been necessary?鈥 Looking at our reactions in the context of our history can help us understand their meaning and gradually create space for something different.
I work integratively, drawing particularly on humanistic, existential and relational psychotherapy, alongside contemporary understanding of trauma, emotions and the nervous system. I also think systemically, considering the wider context of a person鈥檚 relationships, family history, environment and life experiences.
Psychotherapy, for me, is a meeting in which a person can not only understand their history more deeply, but also experience a relationship in which that history does not have to repeat itself.
I provide online psychotherapy in Polish for Polish-speaking adults living in the UK, Poland and other countries.
Practice description
The therapeutic relationship is central to the way I work. I believe that change does not come only from understanding or interpreting the past, but can also develop through experiencing a relationship in which difficult emotions can be noticed, understood and explored without judgement.
I am interested not only in the story a person tells, but also in what happens in the present moment 鈥 in emotions, bodily responses and in the relationship we create together. At times I may reflect on what I notice in the therapeutic process or share my understanding of what may be happening between us when I believe this could help us explore your experience more deeply.
This can be particularly important when working with relational trauma, emotional neglect, experiences of rejection or difficult relationships, where earlier patterns can sometimes appear again in present relationships, including therapy itself.
I do not see my role as changing another person or telling them how they should live. My responsibility is to create conditions in which change can become possible: safety, understanding, curiosity and a relationship in which there is enough space to explore both what happened in the past and what is happening now.
Sessions are available online, and I also offer Walk & Talk psychotherapy in Hertfordshire.
My first session
The first session is an opportunity for us to meet and begin to understand what has brought you to therapy and what you may need at this point in your life.
You do not need to arrive with a clear explanation of what is happening or know exactly what you want to change. We can begin with what feels most important to you and explore it together.
The first meeting also gives you an opportunity to experience how I work and consider whether you feel comfortable working with me. There is no obligation to continue with therapy afterwards.
