About me and my therapy practice
I have extensive experience working with adults, children and young people, including those who are vulnerable or at risk.
I have an up to date Enhanced DBS Check and in depth / extensive Safeguarding and Child Protection certifications.
I have worked in a variety or settings, including schools, hospices, voluntary sector, crisis support, and private practice (Face to face, online and outdoors).
The foundation of my work is humanistic / person-centred and trauma informed.
I started introductory training in 2010, practicing as a counsellor in 2012 and graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2016, gaining a First Class Honours degree in Humanistic Counselling Practice. Since, I continue to engage in a wide and diverse range of Continuing Professional Development.
Practice description
As with all relationships, therapeutic relationships are not 'one size fit all'. People come to counselling/psychotherapy for their own unique reasons and that is what I work with, you as a unique person and client.
We can explore and work together with whatever presents itself, whether that is:
- what brought you to therapy
- unpacking and exploring who you are as a person today
- where you are in life
- treading the path together on your journey through life's challenges
- healing, growing and developing into all of who you are and can be
- whatever else it is you need from therapy
Please make contact with me by email - adam@cpcat.co.uk, from there we can discuss a way forward for you, make an appointment (or not) and answer any questions that you may have. This will also give you an opportunity to tell me a little about what is going on for you.
My first session
Before our first session I will ask you for some personal details so I can create a record for you. These will be stored securely in line with my GDPR compliant privacy policy.
I am happy to have a brief initial conversation (up to 30 mins) before our first session to decide if we are the right fit for each other.
What I can help with
Abuse, ADD / ADHD, Addictions, Anxiety, Autism spectrum, Bereavement, Child related issues, Cultural issues, Depression, Health related issues, Identity issues, Loss, Men's issues, Neurodiversity, Post-traumatic stress, Relationships, Self esteem, Sexual identity, Sexuality, Spirituality, Stress, Trauma, Work related issues
