About me and my therapy practice

I'm Cody (they/them), and my approach is rooted in a holistic perspective, honouring the connection between mind and body. We have such great capacity to live freely, authentically, and relationally,  but sometimes we find ourselves feeling disconnected from it all. I'm passionate about journeying with others towards reconnecting.

We hold much wisdom in our experiences and our bodies. I鈥檓 passionate about reconnecting and reclaiming both. My practice is trauma-informed and body-positive

I create a safe space where clients can explore their feelings, identities, and experiences without fear of judgment. This process of discovery often asks us to prioritise exploration, not explanation鈥攄ialogue, not definition鈥攃ompassion and connection, not correction.

Humans are complex, and life is messy. We are not problems to be solved, but mysteries to be discovered. This discovery is a creative process. I work in an integrative way with a person-centred focus.

Practice description

I actively work to create an environment where clients can discover and express their true selves, fostering self-acceptance, celebration, and empowerment. As a nonbinary person, I know firsthand how important it is to find a safe and affirming therapist.

I understand that many clients carry the weight of past traumas. I prioritise safety and trust, and I incorporate techniques that help clients navigate their trauma at their own pace.

My approach is body-positive and body-centred. I journey with clients towards reconnecting with their bodies, helping to cultivate awareness and facilitate healing through the mind-body connection.

My approach is also characterised by deep empathy and understanding that acknowledges the complexity of each client鈥檚 journey. As James Finley says, 鈥淲hen you risk sharing what hurts the most in the presence of someone who will not invade or abandon you, you can learn not to invade or abandon yourself.鈥

鈥婨very individual has the capacity for growth and healing. I am committed to walking alongside my clients, empowering them to write new stories and embrace their authentic selves. With a blend of professional expertise and lived experience, I am dedicated to fostering safety and connection in every session.
