About me and my therapy practice

Hi and welcome, I鈥檓 Iga (she/her),

I鈥檓 an Integrative Counsellor supporting adults who feel stuck in survival mode. Many of the people I work with are used to holding everything together, while quietly struggling with anxiety, depression, burnout, grief, low self-esteem, or the lasting impact of stress and trauma.

My approach to therapy is attuned and collaborative. We work at your pace, exploring your patterns with curiosity rather than judgment, supporting your nervous system, and helping you reconnect with parts of yourself that learnt to hide in order to cope.

Our work is shaped by your hopes, goals, and needs, with a clear sense of direction but without pressure or expectation. In our work together, we鈥檒l explore what鈥檚 been keeping you in survival mode, so you can reconnect with yourself and build inner safety.

Clients often describe me as warm, open, and easy to talk to. I offer a space that feels authentic and emotionally safe, where you can be met with compassion and honesty. When it feels supportive, I can gently challenge you to deepen the work, and I also use humour where it brings lightness and connection.

HOW THERAPY CAN HELP

Together, we can work towards:

  • Having a safe, confidential space to offload - somewhere you don鈥檛 have to hold it all together, explain yourself, or protect anyone else鈥檚 feelings
  • Helping you understand your nervous system responses and develop practical, compassionate ways to regulate
  • Reducing anxiety, overwhelm, and self-criticism
  • Feeling calmer and more grounded, without constant mental noise
  • Reconnecting with emotions such as anxiety, anger, or grief - at a pace that feels safe
  • Healing the impact of relational trauma and repeated experiences of not feeling safe, seen, or supported
  • Releasing shame and softening your inner critic
  • Developing healthier boundaries and self-trust
  • Feeling safe enough to rest, feel, and choose yourself
  • Moving from survival mode into a life that feels more connected, fulfilling, and true to you

Practice description

My approach is integrative which means I draw from a range of therapeutic modalities and tailor our work to what you need. Together, we will explore your inner world through parts-work (IFS), attachment patterns, and body based awareness - always at the pace that feels right for you.

I work in a relational and trauma-informed way, placing great importance on creating a safe, attuned therapeutic relationship. The connection between therapist and client isn鈥檛 just the backdrop to the work - it鈥檚 one of the most powerful parts of the healing process.

Much of my work centres around anxiety, chronic stress, and burnout. I support clients in understanding their nervous system responses and developing practical, compassionate ways to regulate, so life feels more manageable and grounded rather than overwhelming.

I work with many neurodivergent clients, including those diagnosed with ADHD or Autism later in life. These clients often describe long histories of burnout, people-pleasing, and self-doubt. My neuro-affirmative approach will help you reconnect with your needs and learn to live in a way that honours your nervous system, so you can move from self-blame to self-understanding and acceptance.

I'm bilingual (English and Polish) and have experience working cross-culturally. I understand how language, culture, and upbringing can shape emotional expression, identity, and our relationship with ourselves and others.

My first session

Initial Consultation & First Session

Finding the right counsellor or therapist can feel overwhelming, especially if you are feeling anxious, stuck, or unsure where to begin. To support you in taking this first step, I offer a free 20-minute introductory call, available by phone or online (Zoom or Google Meet).

What to expect in the first counselling session

It is completely natural to feel nervous when beginning therapy. In our first session, we will spend time getting to know each other and clarifying what you would like help with. This initial assessment allows me to understand your needs, goals, and any previous experience of counselling.

I work at your pace and aim to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard and understood. There is no pressure to share more than you feel ready to.

Availability

I offer 1:1 therapy for adults (18+) online & in-person.

Face to face sessions are held in Bexhill at the YouNique Wellbeing Studios (TN39) on Saturdays and Sundays.

鈥婭f you email me, please check your spam/junk folder for a reply. Alternatively, please send me a text message.

About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I鈥檓 Iga (she/her),

I鈥檓 an Integrative Counsellor offering anxiety, burnout and trauma counselling in Bexhill, and online across the UK.

I support adults(18+) who look capable on the outside but feel exhausted, anxious, overwhelmed or disconnected on the inside. Many of the people I work with are used to holding everything together. They are responsible, thoughtful and high-functioning - yet quietly struggling with burnout, self-criticism, perfectionism, people-pleasing or the lasting impact of relational trauma.

Who I Work with

You might recognise yourself here if you:

  • Struggle to switch off your mind or relax without guilt
  • Feel constantly tired, even when you rest
  • Feel anxious, irritable or emotionally overwhelmed
  • Set high standards for yourself and rarely feel it鈥檚 enough
  • Prioritise others鈥 needs while neglecting your own
  • Notice patterns in relationships that leave you feeling unseen, unfulfilled or drained
  • Struggle with self-worth
  • Feel disconnected from joy, creativity, or who you used to be

How therapy can help:

Our work together can support you to:

  • Understand the roots of burnout, anxiety and self-criticism
  • Reduce anxiety and chronic overwhelm
  • Understand your nervous system responses and learn compassionate regulation tools
  • Soften shame and your inner critic
  • Develop healthier boundaries and self-trust
  • Feel safe enough to rest, feel and choose yourself
  • Develop more balanced, fulfilling relationships

I offer a grounded, inclusive and emotionally safe space where you don鈥檛 have to hold it all together. There鈥檚 no need to prove or perform anything - we start exactly where you are, with the messy, unsure, or stuck parts of yourself.

Therapy with me is collaborative and human, not clinical or distant. I bring warmth, depth, creativity and often humour (when appropriate) into our sessions. I care deeply about this work and feel continually inspired by the courage it takes to look inward. You don鈥檛 have to keep holding everything alone.

Practice description

My approach:

My approach is integrative, meaning meaning I draw from different modalities to tailor therapy to you and your unique needs.

Our work may include:

  • Exploring different 鈥減arts鈥 of you (IFS -informed work)
  • Understanding how past experiences shaped current patterns (psychodynamic therapy)
  • Attachment-focused exploration - looking at how your early relationships influence how you connect now
  • Nervous system awareness and body-based approaches (somatic therapy)
  • Identifying copying strategies that once helped you survive (e.g: people-pleasing, perfectionism) Using creative tools if that feels helpful

At the core of my work is a relational approach. The therapeutic relationship isn鈥檛 just the backdrop - it鈥檚 central to healing. I prioritise attunement, authenticity and collaboration, working with you rather than 鈥渙n鈥 you.

My professional experience includes supporting clients struggling with anxiety, trauma responses, low self-worth, chronic stress, perfectionism, and relational patterns that feel difficult to change. I鈥檝e worked with professionals across a range of sectors, including charities, tech, academia, healthcare (including the NHS), and the creative industries. This breadth of experience helps me recognise both the visible struggles and the quieter, underlying dynamics that often sit beneath them.

A significant part of my work is with neurodivergent clients - both formally diagnosed and self-identified - including those discovering their ADHD or Autistic identity later in life. As a neurotypical counsellor, I bring both professional training in neurodiversity-affirmative practice and personal experience of living alongside neurodivergent family members.

From 2022 to 2025, I volunteered as a bereavement counsellor at St Michael鈥檚 Hospice in St Leonards-on-Sea, supporting individuals through grief and loss.

I am bilingual in English and Polish.

If you would like to find out more about me and how I work, please visit my website: www.therapywithiga.com.

This is a relaxed, no-obligation conversation where you can:

  • ask any questions you may have about counselling or therapy
  • share a little about what has been going on for you
  • explore whether my way of working feels right for you

I will also explain my therapeutic approach and how I might be able to support you, so you can make an informed decision about starting therapy.

Each counselling session lasts 50 minutes.
