About me and my therapy practice
Hello and thank you for visiting my profile. I am a fully qualified Integrative Relational Counsellor committed to supporting you through whatever challenges, concerns or difficult feelings you may currently be facing. The relationship that we build will form the foundation of our work and together, we can create a collaborative space where you feel heard and understood.
I believe counselling provides an opportunity for you to reconnect with who you really are, fostering greater confidence, resilience and self-awareness.
My approach is both integrative and relational, meaning I tailor our work to your unique needs, placing the therapeutic relationship at the centre of the work. My work is informed by a range of different theories and current approaches but I primarily use a blend of person-centred and psychodynamic models.
Training, qualifications and experience
- BA (Hons) Integrative Relational Counselling – Middlesex University (Â鶹Դ´ accredited course)
- Registered Member of the Â鶹Դ´ (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) – adhering to their ethical framework
- Ongoing professional development to stay informed on the latest research and advancements in counselling and mental health
- I am certified to work online and over the phone
I currently work in private practice and with a low cost community counselling service. I also have experience providing counselling within the NHS in a GP setting.
Before becoming a counsellor, I spent over 15 years working in the public sector which helped me to gain an understanding of the unique pressures faced by those in healthcare, social care, and the NHS.
Practice description
Many clients describe feeling overwhelmed when they first come to therapy. I offer a down to earth approach, working with you to create a supportive space where you can explore what’s going on for you at your own pace and develop the tools and insights needed to make choices that feel right for you.
I believe that how we have learnt to relate to others and ourselves can impact us in many ways, causing us to repeat unhealthy patterns or become ‘stuck.’ Counselling can allow you the time and space to explore the behaviours and patterns that may be holding you back and find new ways of relating to yourself and others.
Through our work together I hope to enable you to move forward with greater self-compassion and insight.
Whatever issues you bring, I offer a confidential and non-stigmatising environment for you to explore.
My first session
I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation where we can discuss your needs. I can tell you a bit more about how I work, and answer any questions you might have. You don’t need to share too much, I might just ask some questions about the support you’re seeking. If you decide you’d like us to work together, we will then arrange the first session.
Sessions are always 50 minutes long. If we are working online I will provide a link ahead of time. During the first session, we will explore your thoughts and feelings about therapy, discuss your expectations and goals, and address any questions you may have.
At the first session, we will also discuss our client/ counsellor agreement.
