About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified therapist specialising in a person-centred approach. I provide an empathetic, non-judgmental space in which I support my clients in exploring their feelings, values, and narratives. I believe that everyone deserves to be heard and understood, and I work with my clients to build confidence, strengthen connections, and create more fulfilling lives.
My approach is warm, affirming, and tailored to each person’s unique needs, helping them navigate challenges in a way that feels right for them. Whether someone is struggling with anxiety, self-doubt, loneliness, or big life transitions, I provide them with space to explore, grow, and move forward with new clarity and confidence.
I am readily able to adapt to individual needs. I am experienced in accommodating people with neurodivergence, including ADHD and autism, having worked in the past as a specialist support worker. I offer online sessions as well as in-person therapy. I will always be present on camera so that you can see me responding to you. However, you are more than welcome to turn yours off if you do not wish to be on camera.
As well as my work as a therapist, I have also worked extensively in other community-based roles, supporting people through life’s complexities.
Practice description
I offer clients weekly sessions. Each session is 50 minutes long and costs £40 if we meet online, or £50 in person. I also have a limited number of low-income places available at a reduced rate of £20 per session – please do contact me if you are interested in taking up one of these.
My in-person sessions take place at Shirehampton Public Hall, which has good transport links and on-street parking. The therapy room is on the ground floor, but please note that there is a small step up into the room.
Once we have had our introductory session (see below), I will usually begin a session by checking in with you and how you are feeling. I might summarise what we covered in our previous session, and then I will ask you what you would like to talk about in this session. Sometimes clients turn up with a clear focus already in mind, or sometimes we might explore what we might work on together. I am very flexible in my approach, and will only ever move at a pace that feels right for you.
Every six sessions, I conduct a mini-review with clients. This gives you a space to reflect on how you feel things are going. We will also discuss whether there is anything you would like to change about the way we work. It might be that you feel ready to move towards a conclusion, and if so, we will map out what that will look like together.
My first session
I offer a free 20-30 minute introductory phone call, during which I will ask you about what's prompted you to consider therapy, your experience of working with therapists in the past, and your general mental health. You will get a feel for me and my approach, and whether you think my sessions will suit you. At this point, we can also discuss our potential availabilities.
There is absolutely no pressure to commit to anything in this first chat. If you go away and decide you would like to book in for weekly sessions, I will then ask you to complete a short intake form and sign a therapy agreement, which I will go through with you.
