About me and my therapy practice
Support for Young People and Young Adults
I support young people and young adults aged 14+ navigate anxiety, self doubt, depression, self injury, low self esteem, friendships, worries and the often unspoken life transitions that are going on we move through the education system, whether that's in school, college or university, as we start thinking about our futures.
The weight of expectation placed on these formative used can often feeling overwhelming, confusing and lonely. I help made the load feel a little lighter, help rebuild confidence, self esteem and trust in our choices.
Alongside private practice I work for a charity that supports young people that have been the victims of bullying and crime, experienced trauma through domestic and sexual abuse and violence or vicarious trauma. I also help them navigate emotionally based school avoidance, and offer this within my private practice too.
About me
As a young adult I experienced generalised anxiety disorder and my thinking, decisions, friendships, relationships, and early academic and working life were shaped by my own mental health struggles. Seeking support through therapy and also coaching, helped.
Practice description
In my practice, I welcome you as you are. There is no need to find an acceptable language or way of being as you share your story.
Working collaboratively, we will explore your thoughts, feelings, behaviours and experiences, through honest conversation, compassionate enquiry, and gentle challenge, enabling you to feel seen and heard, rediscover your sense of self-worth and confidence, and build a resilient mindset.
My training was relational in nature which means I place our therapeutic relationship at the heart of our work. Working collaboratively, we may explore the impact of your past experiences on your present, which may provide insight and understanding to current experiences and relational patterns in order to help us find new ways forward; however I hold the firm belief that you are the expert in your own life and you will always determine where the work goes.
I am member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (Â鶹Դ´) and you can therefore trust in the professionalism and confidentiality of our work together.
My first session
I understand the process of finding a therapist can be overwhelming in itself and you are therefore welcome to meet me in person, over video or on the phone, for a free, no obligation, 20 minute introductory chat in which you can ask any questions you may have about therapy or how I work.

About me and my therapy practice
If you’re an adult experiencing work-related anxiety, stress or overwhelm, feeling burnt out, living with a constant feeling of dread about going to work, firstly, you're not alone. The pressures of work and our working environment can deeply affect our mental health, confidence, and self-esteem. We often attach our self-worth to our title, role or to feedback from our line managers. We constantly strive to do better, to achieve more, to be ‘good enough’. Work becomes a large part of our identity and when we experience workplace challenges, it can have a knock-on effect that ripples across every aspect of our lives.
How I can help you
Following my 30 year corporate career, the past decade of which was in a Head of People role, I gained a deep appreciation of the impact experiences in (and outside) the workplace can have on us, no matter which role you fulfil, level you have reached or industry you work in. It led me to retrain as an Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist, as well as an NLP Practioner Coach with a special interest in supporting individuals navigating the impact of their mental health either on their work or due to their work and working environment, including:
- Anxiety, stress and burnout
- Low mood and depression
- Anticipatory anxiety arising ahead of, or during, performance reviews and 1-2-1’s, disciplinary and redundancy consultations or settlement discussions
- Feelings of shame, anger, guilt and loss
- Moving forward from workplace bullying or sexual harassment
- Exploring the impact on your relationships outside of work
- Rediscovering your self-worth, confidence and sense of identity
- Establishing healthy boundaries and relationships at work and in life
I also work with individuals in the NHS and blue light roles experiencing the added complexity of traumatic events and experiences in the workplace and provide support in this area too.
For individuals that receive monthly 'supervision' or 'wellbeing' provision within their role, I offer monthly sessions.
