Availability
I currently have availability on Mondays at 4.40, 5.50 and 7pm & Thursdays at 3.30 and 7pm. I do try to offer flexibility on occasions if you are unable to make a session, but this depends on the week and both of our availabilities.
I am available for a free initial phone consultation and will try to arrange this within 72 hours of your enquiry.
About me and my therapy practice
As with any therapist, my approach might not be the right fit for everyone — and that’s completely okay. Over time, my practice has grown and developed, and I would describe myself as someone who values flexibility, collaboration, and offering choice in how we use our sessions together.
I listen closely to the words you bring, helping you explore thoughts, patterns, or behaviours that may be keeping you stuck. For some, therapy involves gently exploring the past and processing deeper experiences. For others, it’s more about looking at the present and future through a goal-focused, coaching-style approach. Most often, we find a balance between the two — but the pace and focus will always be guided by what feels right for you.
Some people prefer a more structured session with direction, while others simply want space to talk and see what naturally comes up. There is no right or wrong way to do therapy — it's about finding what works best for you. My aim is to meet you where you are, offering a safe, supportive space where you can feel comfortable bringing your full, authentic self.
We’ll regularly check in and reflect on how things are going — what's working well, what might need adjusting, and whether we need to take a different approach. Therapy is a collaborative process, and you’ll always be involved in shaping the direction of our work together.
Professional Background
I’ve worked in mental health and addiction services for over 10 years, supporting people through a wide range of experiences. I’m trained in several therapeutic approaches and draw on them in an integrative way — adapting to your needs rather than sticking to a fixed method. These include Person-Centred Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Gestalt, and Transactional Analysis, among others.
If you’re curious to know more or want to see if we’d be a good fit, I offer a free, no-obligation consultation — feel free to get in touch.
Practice description
I created EmpowerUTherapy because I deeply believe in the power of empowerment — something I aim to foster in every session. As an integrative therapist, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches, which allows us to work in a way that’s flexible, creative, and tailored to your unique needs. This means we can adapt how we work together based on what’s coming up for you and where you're at emotionally, mentally, and practically.
My goal is to provide a safe, non-judgemental, and open space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences — even the difficult or uncertain ones — with honesty and vulnerability. Therapy isn’t about having it all figured out; it’s about showing up as you are and allowing space for growth.
What to Expect
Therapy is rarely linear — and that’s okay. It’s often unpredictable, and growth can sometimes feel uncomfortable or uncertain. Change can bring fear, resistance, or doubt, but you won’t be navigating it alone. I’ll be alongside you to support, reflect, and walk through the process together.
There may be sessions where you feel like you’ve taken a step forward, and others where it feels like two steps back — this is completely normal. Every shift, whether big or small, is progress. Therapy can be both rewarding and challenging, and my role is to help you feel supported throughout that journey.
In addition to being a therapist, I’m also trained as a coach through the Personal Consultancy model. This means I can work with you using counselling, coaching, or a blend of both — depending on what feels right for you.
Through coaching, I can offer structured tools, ideas, and feedback to support goal-setting and future-focused work. Through counselling, I offer a space for empathy, reflection, and deeper emotional exploration. These approaches can be used together or separately, depending on your preferences and needs — adding another layer of flexibility and possibility to our work together.
My first session
Beginning therapy can bring up a wide range of emotions — from curiosity and hope to uncertainty or anxiety about the unknown. This is completely normal, and you’re not alone in feeling this way.
Our phone session will offer:
A space for your questions: You’re welcome to ask any questions about the therapy process or how we might work together. This space is yours, and it’s important that it feels right for you. Don’t worry if you’re unsure what to ask — that’s completely okay too.
A brief initial assessment: We’ll gently explore what has brought you to therapy, any previous experiences you’ve had, a little about you and your current circumstances, and any goals or hopes you may have.
Reviewing the contract and practical details: We’ll go through the therapy agreement (which you’ll receive before we meet), and discuss things like session times, confidentiality, and other logistics to make sure we’re both comfortable moving forward.
Looking ahead: Depending on what brings you to therapy, we might start thinking about a potential plan. Some sessions may be more structured if you have specific goals, while others may be more open and guided by what you feel you need in the moment. There’s no one-size-fits-all — we’ll move at your pace, and plans can evolve over time.
Therapy isn’t always a straight path, and sometimes unexpected things can come up. But please know that I’ll be alongside you every step of the way.
