About me and my therapy practice
Are you exhausted and exasperated from the same issues that seem to come up again and again? Are you afraid it could lead to you losing something important? Someone important, a relationship maybe or something in your future? Does it feel like time is running out?
I can help you see why things seem to be stuck on repeat and help you break free into a happier life that gives you what you need.
Do you:
- Feel overwhelmed and dominated by difficult thoughts and emotions?
- Get stuck in the same arguments and feel confused about your part to play?
- Feel guilty and take on too much?
- Feel tired by uncertainty and self doubt?
If you are worried you are going to spend a load of money to talk about painful things whilst someone just smiles and nods, I work differently.
My approach means we can find a way to understand what’s happening so you can make changes to live with more freedom. You stay in control of the pace, and we only explore painful experiences when it feels helpful to do so.
Practice description
I can help you:
- Explore what is happening now and what happened to you in the past.
- Slow down in the room and really notice patterns and behaviours that might play out in your life (and in the therapy room.)
- See more clearly so you can understand where you may have been acting automatically.
- Confront what is being unconsciously avoided with care.
- Re-evaluate your life from a new perspective that leaves you more confident in who you are and what drives you.
- This can give you the ability to make different choices that over time will change the course of your life towards more ease and meaning.
My Story
I originally became a therapist after having gone through some difficult loss in my thirties, Including the loss of my livelihood, life relationship and parents.
These difficult events changed me immeasurably and led me to see how being lost can help us see what we were blind to when we ‘had it all’.
It can actually transform the way we live our lives for the better. This did not happen straight away, and I still have my demons to fight. However, I believe when we are struggling its not because something is wrong with us, its because something is forcing us to change that hasn’t been allowed to see the light of day. It can be painful to meet these aspects of ourselves, but over time facing this can create hope and a new way to live. I want to support people in the darkness and be along side them on the arduous climb towards the light.
- Previous clients have told me that:
- I’m someone they feel they can trust
- I’m careful to work at their pace
- When I offer difficult reflections, we go slowly and I’m careful not to impose and idea on to them
- I am tentative with suggestions and encourage them to question me and decipher what they really feel
- They are able to be themselves and not need to pretend or tell me what I want to hear
If you think I sound like someone you might like to work with then get in touch for a chat at no cost to you.
