About me and my therapy practice
I'm Sarah, I am a person-centred counsellor and I incorporate many aspects of polyvagal theory (an understanding of how our nervous systems work) into what we do together.
When we work together, you are the heart of our sessions.
What you bring to session will lead us, I use gentle enquiry to better understand your experience and to help you explore what is going on for you.
Whatever your reason for seeking counselling I will meet you with empathy and compassion, through our relationship I hope to help you find more sense of self and through this, find peace in your life.
Practice description
I have lovely rooms in Penryn and Probus for my face-to-face work and I also work online either full time or as a hybrid approach.
Client sessions are weekly or fortnightly depending on requirements and availability, generally there's more flexibility with online sessions compared to face-to-face.
My first session
I offer an introductory chat, which is free of charge, this is a short phone call where we can explore a little of what you're looking to get out of counselling and I can explain some of how I work and we can both decide if we're a good fit - if we feel we are then we can book the first session at the end of this call.

About me and my therapy practice
I believe we all heal in relationship, and that fostering healthy connection is the key to being able to find meaning, clarity or perspective.
Practice description
I offer a safe, compassionate and empathetic space in which to explore whatever is going on for you. I passionately believe we have the resources within ourselves to find new perspective, a way forward and peace, whatever our situation.
Are you struggling with a big life event, such as bereavement, job loss or relationship breakdown? Is the 'usual stuff' - day to day - feeling overwhelming?
Maybe you're experiencing anxiety or depression, or a feeling of 'stuck-ness' in life, do you want to change things but it feels too difficult?
Talk therapy is often a way to make sense of what seems to be insoluble. The chance to explore what's happening for you in a completely confidential, non-judgemental environment can be incredibly empowering and allow new perspectives to enter our experience.
Our work together is aimed at facilitating your navigation of the issues that bring you to counselling and I do this through listening, gentle questioning to gain clarity and offering perspective on what I hear. I offer a free 20 minute phone call to establish what brings you to counselling and see if we're a good fit, and then we can take it from there. My first session
I offer a free 20 minute phone call ahead of us working together to establish what you are looking for from counselling and for me to explain how I work. If we feel this is going to be a good fit then we take it from there.
