Hello, I'm Monique, a warm, intuitive counsellor and psychotherapist.

If you’re feeling anxious, lost, low, overwhelmed, or unsure of yourself and would like to talk to someone who really gets you and wants to support you no matter what, I might be that person. Many of the people I work with are carrying stress, depression, trauma, shame, or questions about who they are. Some feel too much. Others feel nothing at all. Some are holding it together on the outside while quietly suffering inside.

You can bring everything here.

The parts that feel too messy, too tender, too strange to say out loud - they’re welcome. You really can tell me anything - I will never dismiss or criticise you because I've been there myself. I know how it is to be burdened with anxiety, depression or low self-esteem. You’ll be met with respect, warmth and genuine curiosity. And yes, I’ll occasionally gently challenge you but I’ll always be on your side. An experienced counsellor, psychotherapist, and trauma therapist, I feel passionate about my clients’ wellbeing. And I will never judge you You, my client, are special to me - I value and respect your courage to explore your inner world.

This is more than just talking.

You might feel things in your body you can’t explain. Or you might feel numb and disconnected altogether. I work in a way that connects the mind with the body to gently resolve what's stuck. Some of my techniques go beyond simply understanding - yes, logic is important but sometimes just because we understand something doesn't mean we can change how we feel or react.

A safe space: Kindness, honesty, and a real connection — no masks, no pressure.

Insight and Understanding: I’ll help you spot and shift unhelpful thoughts, emotions, or behaviours.

Personal Growth: I will help to improve your relationships, build confidence, and tackle any dilemmas, taking into account the emotional, mental, and relational aspects of your life

Healing from Trauma: If you’ve been through painful experiences, we’ll unpack them at your pace. I’ll be there with you, without rushing or avoiding the hard stuff. I draw from person-centred therapy, psychobiology, psychodynamic ideas, mindfulness, art and body-based therapies. My style is adaptable and tailored — you won’t be slotted into a rigid method.

I have helped clients with many different concerns, including anxiety, depression, self-esteem, stress, lack of support, trauma, grief, relationship problems, depression, ADHD, family issues, stress, PTSD, loneliness, eating disorders, abuse, and other issues.

My first session

I offer an introductory telephone conversation before you decide to book a session. This will give you a chance to talk about what brings you to counselling, and ask any questions before you decide what's next.

We will spend our first session exploring in more depth what has been happening for you, and getting to know each other. there will be no obligation to book more sessions there and then. The most important factor in your progress is that you feel safe and comfortable with your therapist.
