About me and my therapy practice
I am an integrative therapist working through online video counselling. I work in a non-judgmental, supportive and confidential way. I am happy to adapt how I work to ensure you feel supported while exploring your issues and experiencing change. I can provide time and space for you to think about your life and what you want out of it.I am interested in how our past can affect our present experience and relationships. And how sometimes how we have coped with life and our emotions in the past may not be helping us in the present. I believe that therapy can help us to experience our emotions and feelings in a way that is based in reality. Leading to a more fulfilling experience of everyday life.
Practice description
Life can be challenging. Sometimes we can be depressed, anxious or feel something isn’t quite right with the way we are in the world. Our emotions and feelings can overwhelm us, and life becomes difficult to enjoy. We may feel that our past experiences affect on how we live right now. Something may feel ‘off’ with in our relationships with families, friends, work colleagues or lovers – or even the relationship with have with ourselves. We may feel stuck in one place unable to change full of frustration and anger. I believe that the counselling can provide the time, space and relationship for you to discover and experience the change you need.I am particularly interested in working with LGBTQ+ and people that experience GRSD (gender, relationship and sexual difference). I work in an affirmative way from within this community. I have experience working with LGBTQ+/GRSD people of all ages and at all stages of life. I work in a way that recognises how our individual identities intersect with each other and honours the influence our race, class and gender expression may have on our emotions and relationships within our communities.
My first session
Our first session will be an informal assessment where we will discuss your what has brought you to therapy and what you would like to get out of the process. We will also discuss our counselling agreement which let us know what to expect from each other while we work together. If you decide to continue working with me then we can discuss the length of our time together. Future sessions will be lead by whatever issues you what discuss.
