I am currently accepting new clients and have both week day and weekend sessions available. I also have evening availability for those who require 'after work hours' sessions. I understand how busy life can be and how important it is to find therapy that works well with your schedule, so I aim to be as flexible as I can for my clients.
About me and my therapy practice
Hello and welcome to Lacuna Counselling with Lauren.
I recognise how important it is to find a therapist that you feel safe and comfortable with, and that is exactly what you will find here in my practice. I really value the importance of counselling that is tailored specifically to you, which is why I never use a 'one size fits all' approach with my clients. Here at Lacuna you will find counselling that is formed in a collaborative way, where your voice and thoughts will always be heard. I know how daunting it can feel to take that step and seek counselling, so I will always do my best to help you feel supported and at ease in our sessions. Whether this is your first therapy journey or the next stage in your self-exploration, whether you’re a young person seeking support or someone in later life looking to delve into their past, I will honour your life and experiences with respect and openness.
I work in an integrative way, using my qualifications in Psychology, Counselling and Psychotherapy to ensure I can offer you the support that you need, in the way that you need it. As well as offering person-centered counselling (BSc Psychology with Counselling, MSc Counselling and Psychotherapy) I am also informed in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Children and young peoples counselling, suicide first aid and the REWIND technique, which allows me to offer short-term sessions to target the symptoms of PTSD.
Practice description
I offer a mixture of telephone, video and face to face counselling for my clients. I also offer walk and talk therapy in the gardens next to my counselling space for those who request it.
I work flexibly, offering day time, evening and weekend appointments, as well as both long and short-term sessions, to suit your therapeutic needs and your daily life schedule.
My first session
I offer a free, no strings attached, 20 minute initial consultation for anyone who wishes to begin working with me. This gives us both the opportunity to get to know each other, for me to gain a better understanding of your therapy goals and needs, and for you to better understand how I work and decide whether I am the right fit for you. I will answer any questions that you may have, and leave the door open for you to get back in touch if you would like to begin your therapeutic journey with me at Lacuna Counselling.
