About me and my therapy practice

As a highly qualified psychotherapist, I offer a comprehensive range of therapeutic services. My integrated training in psychodynamic and systemic approaches, along with my qualifications as a Family Therapist and Psychologist, allows me to provide specialized care.

My areas of expertise include family therapy, couples therapy, and individual psychotherapy. I conduct diagnostic assessments, offer trauma-informed therapy focused on reconciliation, and promote psychological well-being. My practice extends to a variety of modalities, from one-on-one sessions to family and couples counseling.

I also provide specialized services such as mental capacity assessments, psychological diagnostic reports, and medico-legal evaluations related to traumatic stress. Additionally, I offer coaching in lifestyle and stress management, as well as assistance with phobia processing and exposure-based treatment plans.

With extensive experience working with clients of all ages, from childhood to older adulthood, I have a particular interest in Autistic Spectrum Disorders and the importance of timely diagnosis to help with educational and social challenges.

My therapeutic style is both supportive and structured, creating a relaxed environment while tailoring each session to your individual needs.

Practice description

I've created a welcoming and professional space dedicated to my clients. As an independent practitioner, I can give my full attention to your needs, while also maintaining strong ties with the local health board and Swansea University.

My office is located in a bustling business center, which creates a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. The building has a modern and spacious atrium where you can enjoy a complimentary hot or cold drink while you wait. You'll feel completely at ease upon arrival, as it's a busy hub with lots of other independent organizations.

My private room is designed to be a secure and comfortable space. The consultation area features a cozy sofa and fidgets to help you relax. Your privacy is paramount, so our rooms are located behind fob-controlled doors to ensure a confidential environment. Accessible male, female, and disabled restrooms are conveniently located right next door.

Parking is never an issue, as there are plenty of spaces at the front and back of the building. The practice is also just a short walk from the beautiful beach in Aberavon.

My first session

Our initial session is a space for us to explore what you're hoping to achieve in therapy. I'll share my perspective on how I can support you and outline a potential plan. This is a chance for you to see if my approach feels like the right fit for you.

Finding a therapist you connect with is essential. If you feel that our professional relationship isn't a good match, I encourage you to let me know. Your feedback is important, and if we can't find a way forward, I will gladly refer you to a colleague or help you find a practitioner who is better suited to your needs.

If we establish a good rapport, we'll start the therapeutic process right away. We'll conduct a balanced and conversational assessment, and you'll leave with a clear summary and a plan for our next session. You'll also be able to review any notes or assessment paperwork I complete as part of your care.
