About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Geri, an integrative counsellor offering private one-to-one counselling for adults.
Many of the people I work with reach out because anxiety, overwhelm, or emotional pressure have started to take over. You might feel constantly on edge, caught in cycles of overthinking, or exhausted from trying to hold everything together. On the outside you may appear to be coping, while inside you feel tense, disconnected, or unsure how to slow down and feel like yourself again.
I specialise in working with adults experiencing anxiety, panic, emotional overwhelm, ADHD-related difficulties, low self-esteem, and low mood or depression. Often these experiences overlap, leaving people feeling stuck, self-critical, or worn down by their own thoughts.
Counselling offers a space to slow things down and begin to understand what’s happening beneath the surface. You don’t need to have answers or know exactly what you want to change. We start where you are, and we work at your pace.
Practice description
My approach is warm, supportive, and non-judgemental. I work collaboratively, creating a calm and reflective space where you can speak openly and feel heard.
As an integrative counsellor, my work is informed by person-centred counselling alongside CBT-informed approaches, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and parts-based work such as Internal Family Systems (IFS). This allows sessions to be tailored to you, supporting greater self-understanding, emotional regulation, and confidence.
My first session
Before starting counselling, I offer a short introductory call. This is a chance to ask questions, talk things through, and see whether working together feels right for you. There’s no pressure or obligation at this stage, and you’re welcome to take time to decide whether you’d like to book a first session.
Your first counselling session is where therapy begins. This session includes an initial assessment, which helps us build an understanding of what’s been going on for you and what you’d like support with. We’ll explore what feels most important to focus on and talk about how counselling might look, including whether short-term or longer-term support feels right for you.
The first session is also an opportunity to experience how it feels to work together. My aim is to create a calm, supportive space where you can speak openly, without judgement or pressure. You don’t need to prepare anything in advance or have clear goals — we’ll go at your pace and review the work together as we go.
