About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I’m Eleanor (she/her) – an integrative talking therapist working in-person with adults. Most of all I want to build a trusting relationship in which you can explore what’s brought you to therapy.

You might be considering coming to therapy for a number of reasons. You may be feeling distressed, overwhelmed, low or anxious. You might have experienced a significant change in your life, want to explore a particular issue — or to have a supportive space that’s just for you.

Being heard and genuinely responded to within a therapeutic relationship is hugely powerful. It can help us feel more anchored in ourselves, and enrich our relationships with those around us.

I have practiced with a range of clients with different backgrounds and identities in different settings, including the NHS, the third sector and privately.

I am an integrative therapist holding a Diploma in Integrative Counselling and nearing the end of my MA in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling. My in-depth training is at The Minster Centre, one of Europe’s leading integrative schools.

As a registered member with the Â鶹ԭ´´ I follow its code of ethics, with full insurance and a clear DBS check. I am committed to practicing in a non-discriminatory way and welcome all clients with different identities and backgrounds. I follow GDPR guidelines and am registered with the Information Commissioners Office (ICO).

Practice description

In a session I try to pick up on what has emotional potency – or where it’s lacking. I’m interested in dynamics in relationships and might consider if these show up with us. I consider childhood experiences and notice how these appear now. I also include identity and how this is experienced in wider society, if this is something you’d like to explore.

As an integrative therapist I draw together several theories: relational therapy, Attachment Theory, psychodynamic therapy, body talking-therapy and I work in a trauma-informed way. I also consider identity in an intersectional way. My integration involves exploring or holding in mind experiences from the past to understand the present. The therapeutic relationship is central, listening to clients and responding authentically.

My first session

In general, sessions are open for you to talk about what you like. However, in an initial session I would want to cover certain questions in order to be able to work together, and it’s also a space for you to meet me and ask any questions.

An initial session lasts for 50 minutes and is in-person.
