About me and my therapy practice

I offer an exploratory space for adults, young people and couples who feel hopeless, helpless or at a loss. I provide warm and gentle therapy to anyone experiencing distress, from anxiety and depression, to trauma and abuse. I aim to hold you securely and buttress you strongly so that you can examine things that are frightening or that seem impossible to deal with.

I have particular clinical experience with bereavement and loss and since qualifying I have worked extensively with clients living with complex trauma.

My first career was as a competitive swimmer and so I particularly enjoy working with other athletes who are examining their relationship with their sport.

Since qualifying I have worked at an employee assistance programme providing in the moment telephone counselling support and at a Hospice in Stratford-Upon-Avon.

I practice as a person-centred counsellor. Our sessions can take the form of straightforward talking or we can use non-verbal mediums, such as drawing or painting, to explore your experience. I work in a trauma informed way and have experience working with traumatic bereavement. I am LGBTQIA+ allied and work affirmatively with explorations of gender and identity.

I am currently training as a Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner and therefore have a keen interest and increasing experience in bodywork.

About me and my therapy practice

I provide therapy for clients who look like they’re holding it all together but are feeling tired, resentful, isolated, or unfulfilled.

I work with clients who find themselves under constant pressure to perform — at work, at home, in training, or simply from the expectations they place upon themselves. When life feels demanding from every angle, it can become difficult to slow down long enough to recognise what you’re feeling, let alone understand why. My clients may be used to pushing through, showing up, and delivering, even when their inner world feels out of step with what’s required of them. I endeavour to offer a space for clients to pause from this cycle and begin to listen to their emotions, motivations, and solidify their sense of self without fear of collapse.

My intention is to provide a calm and supportive environment where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings without judgement or pressure. Together, we can look at the parts of your experience that may get pushed aside in day-to-day life — not to diminish your abilities, but to help you feel more grounded and resourced as you continue to do the things that matter most to you.

My understanding of these pressures is informed not only by my clinical training but also by my earlier life in performance-driven environments. Before becoming a psychotherapist, I worked as a classical singer and later as a full-time competitive swimmer. Those years taught me a great deal about managing emotions under strain and highlighted how rarely genuine emotional support is offered in high-performance settings. This insight continues to shape the way I work: with an emphasis on compassion, self-understanding, and the belief that tending to your emotional life can strengthen — not weaken — your capacity to thrive.

Practice description

I provide both long and short-term therapy to adults and couples.

I practice as a person-centred counsellor. This means that I do not bring an agenda to client work, instead, my focus is on the provision of genuine non-judgement, empathy and personal authenticity. I have also undergone training in Person-Centred Expressive Arts and enjoy offering clients non-verbal means of expression. I have particular clinical experience with complex/developmental trauma (CPTSD), and bereavement and loss. I am currently training as a Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner and so comfortable working with experiences such as dissociation, panic attacks and nightmares. I am LGBTQIA+ allied and work affirmatively with explorations of gender and identity.

I work from Gray's Inn Therapy Rooms in central London. These are beautiful and well thought out spaces in a tranquil and quiet space. The rooms are on the second floor but there is a lift so they remain accessible to anybody who cannot navigate stairs.  Each room is sound insulated. There is a bathroom and waiting room for clients. The rooms are 2 minutes walk from Chancery Lane and 10 minutes walk from, Holborn, Farringdon and City Thames Link.

My first session

Before you book a session we will arrange a phone or video call in which you can ask me any questions you may have and get a feel as to whether you would like to work with me. Following this, I offer an initial consultation session at half my standard fee, which is a full 50 minute long therapy session, to allow us to 'trial' working together and for you to decide if you feel comfortable in my presence. I do not perform a medical style assessment at any point.
