About me and my therapy practice

Hi, hello and welcome. I’m Kate

I’m a person-centred, relational therapist with a passion for helping people build their self-esteem, reconnect with their sense of self and create a life in which they can truly thrive.

Life can feel incredibly challenging, particularly in today’s fast-paced world. We can find ourselves navigating change, uncertainty, relationships, work, family pressures and worries about the wider world, sometimes all at once. When life feels overwhelming, it can be difficult to make sense of what we’re feeling or to know what we need.

You may be feeling anxious, low or lonely, struggling with your confidence or questioning who you are and where you’re going. Perhaps your relationships have become difficult, or you’ve noticed that your relationship with yourself has changed. Sometimes we can become so focused on managing everything around us that we lose touch with ourselves in the process.

This is where therapy can offer a space to take a pause and begin to understand what is happening beneath the surface.

Practice description

As a person-centred, relational therapist, I believe that being genuinely heard, understood and accepted can be incredibly powerful. I offer a safe, confidential and supportive space where you can talk openly about your thoughts, feelings, relationships and experiences without judgement. Together, we can explore what is happening for you, at your own pace, and begin to develop a deeper understanding of yourself and what you need.

I work with a broad range of clients and a variety of issues, but I have a particular interest in self-esteem and how our experiences can shape how we see and value ourselves.

I also have a special interest in supporting women in midlife. This can be a time of significant change and reflection, when familiar roles, relationships and expectations may begin to shift. You may find yourself asking questions about who you are now, what you want from life and what your purpose might be. While this period of change can sometimes feel unsettling, it can also be an opportunity to reconnect with yourself and consider what a fulfilling life looks like for you.

Therapy doesn’t have to be about having all the answers. Sometimes it’s about having someone alongside you while you explore the questions.

The therapeutic relationship is central to my practice. I believe deeply in the healing power of kindness, connection, and validation. By creating a sense of safety and trust, I hope that you can be yourself and that together we can build a relationship that supports self-compassion and helps you flourish.

If my down-to-earth, human approach resonates with you, and you’re considering beginning or continuing therapy, I’d really love to hear from you.

My first session

I know that finding a therapist who feels right for you is an important step, and I understand that reaching out for therapy can feel daunting.

I offer a free 15-minute initial phone call with no obligation to continue. This gives us an opportunity to talk about what you’re looking for from therapy, for you to ask any questions you may have, and for us to see whether I might be the right therapist for you.

There’s no pressure to make a decision during the call. It’s simply an opportunity to talk and see how it feels.

If you decide that you would like to go ahead, I will send you all the information you need to help you feel comfortable and prepared for your first session.
