About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Amy, a fully qualified, Â鶹Դ´ registered counsellor, with a passion for helping people with their mental health. I offer online/telephone sessions, and in-person sessions in the Solihull area.
Having previously volunteered in local charities, including Solihull Mind and in my current employment, I have experience working with a diverse range of clients, supporting them with common mental health problems and many difficult life experiences. Alongside this I also run my own independent practice, seeing both online and in-person clients.
A significant amount of my work has been around supporting people with, anxiety, stress/overwhelm, low self-esteem and depression.
Other areas of interest include, relationship issues, trauma and anger management.
Practice description
Struggling with your mental health can have such a significant impact on day-to-day life. Whilst the way we all experience these challenges will differ from one person to the next, there's often a common theme – we can feel stuck, helpless and lack a sense of control.
It can hold us back from our potential, interfering we who we truly are, and what we want to do. For some it can create a real sense of loss of self, or for those who have always found themselves to be struggling, never truly knowing themselves. We end up stuck in repeated patterns, that we may not even be aware of.
In sessions, I aim to provide a supportive space where you can explore these challenges and experiences without judgment, talking openly about your thoughts and feelings. Together, we’ll work at your pace to navigate those difficult emotions, and explore some practical strategies to support your mental health.
My approach to counselling is rooted in empathy and understanding. I do not believe in a one size fits all approach, instead I take methods from different counselling approaches to suit you as an individual, recognising that your struggles and experiences are unique.
All topics and emotions are welcome - I look forward to supporting you on your journey

It is really important that you feel comfortable with your counsellor and are getting what you need from your sessions. If for any reason during our work together you feel I am not the right counsellor for you, you are not obliged to continue your sessions.
