About me and my therapy practice
I am a Person-Centred Counsellor offering a confidential, safe, empathetic, and non-judgemental listening space. I am here to support and walk along side you as we explore the challenges that have brought you to therapy, and help you find a way forward. I believe that therapy is the client's time to explore whatever they choose, whether that's emotional difficulties, life transitions, relationship challenges, or simply a need to talk and feel heard. So each session is non-directive, you decide what you would like to bring. I use an integrative approach, which means I can adapt the way I work to best meet the client's needs (for example: trying creative work), and always with the aim of creating a supportive and respectful therapeutic relationship.
Practice description
I hold a Diploma in Humanistic (Person-Centred) Counselling, having completed Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications prior to that. Since qualifying, I have had experience working in a GP practice seeing referrals, and private practice, supporting clients with a wide range of needs including low self esteem, anxiety, depression, relational issues, and other mental health challenges.
I offer counselling to adults aged 18 years and over, and am experienced in both face-to-face and online work.
I offer a dedicated space for face to face work in a quiet area of Rochester, Kent, with off road parking.
I offer short and longer term work.
All sessions are 50 minutes in duration and charged at £50.00.
My first session
Prior to the first session, I like to have a brief telephone chat so that potential clients can ask any questions they may have, and see if they feel comfortable working together. If they are happy to proceed, I send a copy of the working contract to read through.
In our first session, we will:
- Explore what issues you would like to bring to therapy
- Explore what you are expecting to get out of therapy
- Explain how I work and the limits of confidentiality
- Discuss the working contract and agree a way of working together
- Answer any other questions you may have
