About me and my therapy practice
My name is Julie. I am a passionate, client centred therapist who uses integrative techniques to support and advocate for adults and adolescents aged 16 years and above. I draw on 18 years of experience from a wide range of backgrounds, and this breadth has given me the knowledge and insight to support people through the many different challenges they may encounter throughout their lives.
You may be experiencing anxiety, depression, low confidence, or social anxiety. Perhaps you are finding it difficult to develop and maintain healthy relationships or set boundaries. Or you might simply feel overwhelmed by life without fully understanding why. Whatever brings you to therapy, I offer a welcoming, non-judgemental space where we can explore what is happening for you and work together to navigate life’s complexities.
With a Postgraduate Diploma in Neurodevelopmental Conditions, I bring both professional knowledge and a personal, lived understanding of neurodiversity to my work. My approach to therapy is low-shame, highly individualised, and tailored to the way your brain and nervous system work. Together, we can begin to untangle feelings of overwhelm, build resilience, and identify strategies that feel realistic and helpful for you.
Practice description
During my career, I have worked across a wide range of health and support services, including GP practices, acute and mental health hospitals, hospices, and universities. My roles have included suicide prevention adviser and specialist student mentor. I am committed to continuing professional development and have undertaken training across a broad range of areas. I have also led and contributed to several research projects, helping me develop a deeper understanding of the issues individuals and families may face.

My first session
During our first session, my priority will be to help you feel comfortable and at ease. We will work at your pace, and you will have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss what you hope to gain from therapy. There is no pressure to continue with further sessions if you decide therapy is not for you or that I am not the right therapist for you.
