About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified Integrative Therapist registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (Â鶹Դ´) and accredited by Addiction Professionals (AP). I hold an MSc in Addiction Psychology and Counselling, and Psychedelics: Mind, Medicine, and Culture at the University of Exeter, a postgraduate diploma exploring the therapeutic potential of psychedelics within cultural and clinical contexts.
My training draws on a multiple therapeutic approaches, including humanistic, psychodynamic, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), metacognitive therapy (MCT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), and mindfulness. This integrative foundation allows me to tailor therapy to your unique needs and experiences.
I work with individuals facing challenges related to addiction, trauma, ADHD, and relationship struggles. I have a particular interest in men’s mental health and often work with gay men clients navigating problematic chemsex use and identity issues. I offer a space that’s compassionate, affirming, and grounded. For those who’ve had past psychedelic experiences, I help integrate those insights into everyday life and personal growth journey.
I have supported clients in various settings, including the third sector and a 12-step addiction recovery day programme. Currently, I work in an inpatient mental health ward in the private sector, supporting patients within a trauma-informed framework to improve their well-being and reconnect with their authentic selves.
Practice description
So, how do we do this work?
Therapy can take many forms. Often, we talk. But sometimes, silence does the work. Emotions may surface; we might laugh or cry, feel anger, fear, joy, or love. I pay attention closely to what’s happening in the room, including what may lie just beyond awareness. Clients sometimes draw, keep journals, or share dreams. We might role-play, design rituals, plan personal challenges, or celebrate you. I bring experience in entering others’ inner worlds with wonder and empathy, while also asking difficult questions about your shadows.
I don’t have a magic wand to make things better, but I do commit to honesty, presence, and transparency. If your story or way of relating evokes thoughts or feelings in me, I’ll seek a respectful and sensitive way to share them with you.
