About me and my therapy practice

I am a Counselling Psychologist and Psychotherapist.

My extensive experience involves working therapeutically with adults, adolescents and children in NHS, charities and private settings.

I work a lot with trauma and traumatic memories, using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

Unlike traditional therapy that relies heavily on talking, EMDR focuses on the brain’s natural ability to heal itself. It uses bilateral stimulation—typically guided eye movements, taps, or tones—while you focus on a traumatic memory or a particular difficulty you wish to work through.

This process "unlocks" the nervous system and allows the brain to reprocess the experience so it is no longer emotionally charged.

EMDR can help with various issues including:

Anxiety

Recent and old traumas

Stress and burnout

Phobias

Psychosomatic Symptoms and pain management

I also offer EMDR tailored for ADHD and ASD clients.

About me and my therapy practice

I work primarily from a psychoanalytic perspective with an attachment-based focus, providing my clients a space to explore how their past might be influencing their life at present, as well as the ways they relate and connect to others. In the therapeutic process I help clients to gain insight into their state of mind by bringing the unconscious to a conscious level. Alongside these processes, I pay dedicated attention to the quality of the relationship between myself and the clients. This combination is a powerful vehicle for facilitating a meaningful change in the clients’ lives.

Practice description

My extensive experience involves working therapeutically with adults, adolescents and children in NHS, charities and private settings. I specialise in relational difficulties, which can be closely linked to other psychological issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, addictions and eating disorders.

At the core of my work is a belief that every person has a potential to grow emotionally, once they are provided with a safe place for self-exploration where they can learn how to better cope with the environmental failures.
