About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I am Lisa, a Â鶹Դ´ accredited person-centred counsellor.
I offer a safe, supportive space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and emotions in confidence and without judgement. I work with great care, compassion, and warmth, taking time to truly understand you. Together, we can begin to explore the underlying causes of the feelings you may be experiencing and help you find your way forward.
We can face challenging times in our lives, and there can be moments when these difficulties become so overwhelming that coping seems almost impossible. Counselling can offer you the opportunity to work through these difficulties at your own pace, helping you to make sense of your thoughts and feelings with greater clarity and self-awareness. Through this process, a deeper understanding of yourself and your life experiences can begin to emerge.
I work with clients experiencing anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, loss, overwhelm, and life transitions. I also support clients who may be struggling with difficult emotions, feeling stuck, or finding it hard to cope with the pressures of everyday life.
I believe the therapeutic relationship is at the heart of counselling. By building a trusting and collaborative relationship together, you can feel heard, accepted, and understood, creating the space to make choices and changes that feel right for you. I aim to offer a space where you do not feel rushed, judged, or alone with what you are carrying. Decisions we arrive at ourselves often carry greater meaning and lasting value.
Taking the first step in finding a counsellor can feel daunting, and it is important that you choose someone who feels right for you and your needs.
My first session
I understand that getting a sense of who I am through a profile alone can be difficult, so I offer an initial chat before a first session. This gives you the opportunity to ask any questions and helps us both begin to understand how we might work together. Feeling comfortable, safe, and able to speak freely is essential, and this initial contact can help you decide whether counselling with me feels right for you.
