About me and my therapy practice

A very warm welcome to you. Finding a new therapist can feel daunting, but you’ve already taken an important first step.

Life’s challenges can sometimes feel overwhelming — leaving you stuck, alone, or uncertain about how to move forward. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, ADHD, or a major life transition, you don’t have to face it alone.

About Me and My Approach

I'm originally from Scotland and have a background in education before moving into mental health services. I am a humanistic integrative counsellor; this means I use a blend of therapeutic approaches, including Person-Centred Therapy, Transactional Analysis (TA), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Counselling, and Gestalt, which I tailor to each client.

At the core of my work is the belief that a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship is key to meaningful change. My approach combines exploration of both the past and present: we’ll look at how early experiences may still shape your current outlook, alongside your present relationships, communication patterns, and emotional connections.

My aim is to support you in building resilience, forming more meaningful connections, and making the changes you want to see in your life.

As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (Â鶹ԭ´´), I work in accordance with their Ethical Framework, which guides and informs my practice.

Practice description

What to Expect

Sessions last 50 minutes and take place weekly, either online or in person. You can continue therapy for as long as it feels helpful — there's no fixed limit.

In our sessions, we’ll create a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace.

You’ll decide what you’d like to focus on. Some people prefer to choose a topic and explore it over several sessions, while others like to decide week by week. We can talk through what feels right for you and tailor the structure accordingly.

Together, we can explore patterns, difficult emotions, held beliefs, and past experiences that might still need to be processed or challenged.
