About me and my therapy practice

You may be outwardly successful, but under pressure to ‘hold it all together’ while feeling anxious, low, or experiencing strain in your relationships. Many of my clients are professionals who feel they should be coping better or managing this without help. As a Person-Centred Counsellor with a PhD in Psychology, I offer a warm, open, and evidence-based approach to therapy, combining emotional and professional understanding to help you make sense of what you’re experiencing.

If this sounds like you, please get in touch for an initial free and confidential 15-minute conversation about working together.

What brings people to therapy with me

Clients often describe feeling caught between their external achievements and what they’re experiencing internally. Things may look successful on paper, but inside there’s exhaustion, relationship conflicts, self-doubt, or a loss of meaning. Consistent pressure, responsibilities, high standards, or a particular challenge can become overwhelming.

For some, anxiety, low mood, or patterns of behaviour can feel persistent, undermining relationships and wellbeing in ways that are hard to explain and difficult to manage alone.

I work with stress, anxiety, low mood, and relationship difficulties. I have particular experience with work-related challenges, including leadership pressure, career transitions, identity and purpose at work, and the emotional toll of long-term achievement and responsibility. When facing difficulties, therapy can provide valuable space to pause, reflect, and start taking steps towards a better future.

The use of the title Dr in this directory listing relates to the member’s doctorate qualification. However, this does not imply a general medical qualification.

Practice description

Whether you have had therapy before or this is your first time, you can expect a thoughtful, collaborative approach grounded in psychological research and professional experience.

About me

Before becoming a therapist, I spent over a decade as a consultant in demanding professional environments across the UK, Europe, and Australia, leading complex change projects. Experiencing first-hand the pressures, expectations, and identity challenges that can accompany professional success led me into psychology and counselling.

I currently hold an affiliate postdoctoral research position at the London School of Economics (LSE), where my work focuses on careers, identity, and wellbeing, with work published in Current Psychology, MIT Sloan Management Review, and the World Economic Forum’s Future of Work.

My approach draws on evidence-informed practice, behavioural science, and positive psychology while prioritising the therapeutic relationship. This means that above all, I am guided by what you need, value, and want from therapy. Taking time to understand your unique experience is what gives therapy its value.

How we'll work together

Therapy offers a trusted and emotionally attuned relationship where difficult thoughts and feelings can be explored safely. This often helps clients to feel less overwhelmed by negative thoughts or patterns, sleep better, have difficult conversations, and reconnect with what matters to them.

Together, we will explore the roles of work, relationships, identity, and past experiences in whatever depth you need to understand your emotional wellbeing and sense of self.

My first session

Before starting therapy, I offer a free 15-minute initial telephone conversation. This provides an opportunity to discuss what has brought you to therapy, ask any questions, and get a sense of whether we would be a good fit for working together.

In our first session, there is no pressure to prepare or have clear answers. You will have time and space to explore your situation in more depth and clarify what you would like from therapy. We’ll work together in a way that feels safe, purposeful, and supportive for you.
