I offer counselling sessions on weekdays, and weekends. Sessions can take place online, by telephone, from my home practice, outdoors as walk & talk. I work with adults, young adults, parents, and professionals, and will do my best to find a time that fits around your commitments and feels supportive during times of need.

About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I offer a calm, confidential space to make sense of what’s happening and find a way forward.

As a pluralistic counsellor, I tailor our work to you. People come to me for different reasons, including social anxiety, low mood, stress and burnout, grief, relationship difficulties, and the longer-term impact of earlier experiences. Whatever brings you to counselling, my starting point is that no single method works for everyone, and that meaningful progress comes from collaboration and choice.

In our sessions, I can offer a range of approaches, including person-centred therapy, CBT-informed tools, solution-focused strategies, and creative practices such as reflective journaling, visual metaphors, mindfulness, and walk-and-talk work. If it feels helpful, we can also explore art-based reflection. The methods we use will always be tailored to you, keeping the work practical, relevant and grounded. I practise within the Â鶹ԭ´´ Ethical Framework, attend regular supervision, and engage in reflective practice to keep our work safe and responsive.

Alongside my counselling practice, I bring 25 years of experience in education as a teacher, lecturer and academic adviser, supporting young people and adults through high-pressure environments, uncertainty and major transitions in the UK and internationally. Over time, this work deepened my interest in psychology and counselling, particularly what helps when life feels too much to hold alone. My background in teaching and higher education guidance enables me to work holistically understanding how wellbeing, identity, and achievement interconnect.

I also bring personal understanding of compound grief, significant life changes, and differences in how people process the world. Counselling has helped me through difficult seasons, and I offer you the same steady, non-judgemental space so you don’t have to carry it on your own.

Practice description

I offer an initial 20–30 minute telephone conversation, free of charge, where we can talk about what has brought you to counselling and explore whether I may be the right person to support you. This is also a chance for you to ask questions and get a feel for how I work.

If we decide to go ahead I offer up to 50-minute counselling sessions designed to give you time and space that is completely yours. I provide both short and long-term therapy and we can discuss the planned duration and couselling contract together during our initial session.

We will review your progress at every fourth session.

I charge a fee of £70 per 50 minute session. I charge a reduced fee to clients who are claiming benefit or students. Please note that this must be agreed prior to our first session, and require proof. All payments are made in full at the time of booking. A full refund when giving 48 hours notice or more of cancellation.

*48 Hour Cancellation Policy otherwise session charged at full rate.

Each session is an opportunity to pause, reflect, and work through what feels most important to you, without judgement or expectation. Some people use this time to talk freely, others prefer a more structured focus, and some choose creative or non-talk approaches, we will shape the sessions together in ways that meet your needs. Whatever format you choose, my commitment is to create a compassionate and confidential space where you feel supported, allowing sessions to evolve over time as your needs change.

Clients often describe my style as warm, grounded, and easy to talk to. You can expect me to listen with care, to respect your pace, and to collaborate with you in finding ways forward that feel meaningful. Whether you are facing change, loss, displacement, or simply a time of need, my aim is to work alongside you as you reflect, process, and rebuild.

My first session

I offer an initial 20–30 minute telephone conversation, free of charge, where we can talk about what has brought you to counselling and explore whether I may be the right person to support you. This is also a chance for you to ask questions and get a feel for how I work.

If we decide to go ahead, our first full session will include a more detailed assessment, where we look at your needs and hopes for counselling in greater depth. We will also go through the counselling contract together, which sets out confidentiality, boundaries, and what you can expect from me, so that you feel safe and informed as we begin working together. I will ask you to sign the agreement to show that you understand its contents.
