About me and my therapy practice
As a person-centred counsellor, I work with empathy, compassion and a genuine belief in your ability to grow and heal.
Alongside my private practice, I’ve worked within an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), supporting clients with work-related stress, burnout and the wider impact work can have on our wellbeing and relationships. I also have experience supporting individuals affected by cancer through my work with Macmillan, which has deepened my understanding of the emotional and practical challenges that can come with illness, both for those diagnosed and for the people around them.
Before retraining as a counsellor, I worked in education and as a personal trainer. Those roles shaped the way I work today; grounded, relational and focused on helping people build confidence, resilience and trust in themselves at their own pace.
I aim to offer a space that feels safe, calm and free from judgement, where you can be honest about how things really are. Together, we can explore what’s going on for you and help you reconnect with your own strength and clarity, so you can move forward in a way that feels right for you.
Please note: I work with women only.
Practice description
As a person-centred counsellor, I offer a warm, respectful and collaborative approach to therapy. My priority is creating a safe and confidential space where you feel comfortable to talk openly and know that you’re genuinely heard and understood.
I focus on seeing things from your perspective and working at a pace that feels right for you. I won’t tell you what to do or judge your experiences. Instead, I’ll walk alongside you, offering gentle support as we explore your thoughts, feelings and whatever might be going on beneath the surface.
Together, we can begin to make sense of things, helping you gain clarity, self-awareness and a stronger sense of confidence in yourself. The aim is for you to feel more able to navigate life’s challenges in a way that feels authentic and true to you.
My first session
I offer a short, free, introductory phone call to establish whether we are a suitable fit for one another. In this call we will discuss broadly what has brought you to counselling and how we may be able to work together.
During our initial session, we will focus on setting goals, completing some initial assessments to better understand your needs, and creating a working agreement. This contract will outline the boundaries, expectations, and practical aspects of our therapeutic relationship, ensuring clarity and mutual understanding from the outset. This session is designed to help you feel comfortable, supported, and confident about embarking on this journey.
