About me and my therapy practice

Are you feeling overwhelmed, anxious, unsettled, or unsure of yourself? You may be finding it difficult to move forward after a major life change, or still feeling the effects of a traumatic experience.

These feelings can affect many areas of life. You might be facing challenges at work, struggling in your relationships, or grieving the person you had always hoped to be. At times like these, it can help to share the load.

I work with clients who want to move beyond self-doubt, and find greater clarity and confidence in themselves. Together, we'll explore what's holding you back, work towards a deeper sense of self-trust and inner calm, and open the door to genuine, lasting change.

I bring a solid foundation of experience to my work, with a background in both organisational settings and private practice. I specialise in working with anxiety, recent or historical trauma, low confidence, grief, and difficult life changes.

Alongside my private practice, I work freelance for a specialist charity supporting adult survivors of sexual abuse. This work draws on my capacity to bring thoughtful, attuned support in the face of complex and painful experiences.

In addition to my training as a counsellor, I bring real-world experience to my therapeutic practice. As a wife and mother, I understand the complexities of family life, parenting, and navigating relationships.

Before becoming a counsellor, I had a diverse career; first in scientific research and, later, in finance. My experience spans the public and private sector, and also the education sector, giving me a broad perspective on the various pressures and challenges people face in different aspects of their lives.

Practice description

I am an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist at Time 2 Talk Counselling. I am available for face to face sessions in Kingston Bagpuize near Abingdon. I also work online. I have availability during the day and in the evenings.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (Â鶹ԭ´´).

I draw on a range of therapeutic methods to help you reconnect with your inner resources and to enable you to face your challenges with greater confidence. My way of working is primarily person-centred, which means I work collaboratively and with sensitivity, focussing on what feels most important to you. I am also trained in Transactional Analysis and Gestalt, which allows me to integrate different perspectives and adapt the process to suit your individual needs. Whether you're seeking therapy for something specific, or simply need a space to pause and reflect, I'll meet you where you are.

I work in a trauma-informed way - meaning I remain sensitive to how past experiences (even those that might not seem like "big" traumas) can shape the way we feel, think, and relate. This might include paying attention to how emotions are held in the body and exploring how we can work with these responses to move from simply coping, toward feeling more whole and grounded.

I adhere to the Â鶹ԭ´´ Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct, and offer a respectful, inclusive, and reflective practice. My work is supervised by a clinical supervisor in order to ensure it remains safe, ethical and attuned to your needs.

Therapy sessions are 50 minutes long, and generally held on a weekly basis, and for as long as you feel you need them.

My first session

In the first session, we will start to unpack your concerns and look at what you hope to gain from therapy. This initial conversation often brings new insight, and can help clarify the direction of our work.

You can then decide whether you would like to continue with more sessions. There is no obligation to continue at any point.

If you feel ready to begin, or even if you're just curious about whether therapy might be right for you, you're very welcome to get in touch. I offer a free, no-obligation, 20-minute telephone call so that you can ask questions and get a feel for whether I would be right for you.

I respond to all enquiries by email within 24 hours (or on the next working day for enquiries received on weekends or bank holidays). Please check your spam/junk mail if you haven't received a response within this time.
