Life can be unpredictable, bringing unexpected and natural change that we sometimes find hard to process and deal with. I recognise that we can often feel overwhelmed and confused by difficult feelings and emotions and this inturn can impact our quality of life, health and general well being.
I offer Person Centred Therapy which is non- directive and puts clients and their individual needs at the heart of my practice. Sessions are tailored to suit you.
I am happy to provide short- term, time limited therapy for a specific issue, or longer term therapy, if this is more appropriate for you.
I work primarily with the following issues:
- Loss and Grief
- Mental Health Conditions such as anxiety & depression
- Relationship difficulties
- Divorce and Separation
- Upsetting physical health conditions
- Difficult emotions such as anger, low self esteem
- Work related issues eg. Stress
- Womens issues eg. Menopause/Prolapse
- Upsetting issues related to your childhood
- Trauma and how this is imapcting your life.
- Personal problem solving
- Anything that is worrying you and impacting your wellbeing and quality of life
Through one-hour sessions, I offer a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space to work through whats troubling you, and we can find the right way forward for you ... together.
Practice description
I am a fully qualified therapist with a BA (Hons) Degree in Contemporary Approches to Counselling and work with adults and young people (from 15 years.)
I hold registered membership of the Â鶹Դ´, an enhanced DBS, full insurance and ICO registration.
In my practice, I offer a warm, safe and welcoming space where you can talk openly and be heard without judgment. I work in a trauma-informed, person-centred way which means our work together is guided by your needs, your pace and what feels most important for you to explore.
I offer a range of therapeutic support including short-term solution focused therapy for specific concerns, longer-term therapy for deeper or ongoing issues and one-off sessions which can be useful for problem solving .
My aim is to create an environment where you feel suppoted, respected and able to reflect on your experiences, gain insight and work through what's on your mind, at your own pace. I work in accordance with the ethical frameowrk of the Â鶹Դ´, ensuring that your wellbeing, safety and confidentiality are central to my practice.
I offer In-Person appointments as well as online from the comfort of your own home, and also telephone appointments.
My therapy room on the ground floor (with wheelchair access) and is based in West Hull (conveniently situated just off the A63.)
My first session
Before our first session, I will send you some information about how I work, along with a client agreement so you have time to read through everything at your own pace.
Our first appointment is an opportunity for us to begin getting to know one another and for you to share as much or as little information as you feel comfortable about what has brought you to therapy. I work in a trauma-informed, person-centred way which mean the sessions move at a pace that feels safe and managable for you.
In our first session, we will complete an assessment of your needs together. Sometimes its very difficult to know where to start, especially when things feel overwhelming, so just take your time. Making your first appointment is often the hardest step.
