About me and my therapy practice
Welcome. Reaching out for counselling can feel like a big step. but recognising that you may benefit from talking to someone is a courageous first move. You might be struggling with a recent life event, loss, or relationship difficulties — or perhaps feeling stuck, anxious, low, or unsure why things feel off. Whatever brings you here, it’s likely you’re looking for support to understand what’s going on and find a way forward.
I offer a safe, confidential space where you can talk openly and be heard without judgement. My approach is psychodynamic, which means we’ll explore how past experiences and unconscious processes may be influencing how you feel, behave, and relate to others in the present.
Working together, we’ll aim to make sense of the patterns and feelings that may be keeping you stuck. This can lead to increased self-awareness and the possibility of making different choices in your life and relationships. I listen with warmth, curiosity, and attention to both what’s said and what might be harder to put into words. At times, I may offer reflections or gentle challenges to help you see things from a new perspective.
I believe the relationship between client and counsellor is at the heart of the therapeutic process. I aim to create a consistent and containing space where trust can develop over time. Our regular weekly sessions provide the framework for this relationship to grow — and for deeper exploration to unfold.
Practice description
My approach is grounded in psychodynamic theory, which recognises that our unconscious mind influences how we feel and act — often in ways we’re not fully aware of. Together, we’ll explore patterns that may have once served a purpose but now feel limiting or unhelpful. Psychotherapy, for me, is a process of moving from emotional autopilot to greater self-awareness — creating the space for more conscious choices and positive change in your life and relationships.
I hold an MSc in Psychodynamic Counselling & Psychotherapy, as well as a Master’s in Clinical Social Work. My background includes work in community mental health, student counselling, crisis line services, and a variety of voluntary roles. This diverse experience has shaped a compassionate and grounded approach to therapeutic work.
My first session
Please do get in touch. I offer a free 30-minute initial conversation (online, by phone, or in person) to help us decide whether working together feels like the right fit.
If we choose to proceed, sessions take place weekly at a regular time and last 50 minutes.
I work both in person and online.
Therapy can be open-ended or time-limited, depending on your needs — often lasting a year or longer.
