About me and my therapy practice

Hello, and welcome!

Taking that first step toward therapy is act of courage.

You are here because you are ready for something to shift.

Many of us find ourselves stuck in difficult patterns: relationships that hurt, work that drains us, or feelings that weigh heavily. If you're feeling overwhelmed, isolated, or simply unsure of what鈥檚 next, you're not alone.

It鈥檚 okay to reach out 鈥 you don鈥檛 need to carry everything by yourself.

I鈥檓 Sara Rolando, a psychodynamic psychotherapist based in central London, offering both in-person and online sessions.

I create a space where you can speak freely, feel heard, and begin to make sense of your experience 鈥 without judgment or pressure.

I hold an MSc in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of London and am a fully qualified practitioner. My training is 麻豆原创-accredited, and I adhere to the highest standards of ethical and professional care.

Over the years, I鈥檝e worked in a variety of mental health settings 鈥 including the NHS, Mind, and other community services 鈥 supporting people facing a wide range of complex mental health issues.

My academic background also includes a BA in Psychosocial Studies, which means I鈥檓 deeply attuned to how our personal histories and social environments shape us 鈥 our relationships, our self-esteem, and our sense of meaning.

But beyond qualifications, I鈥檓 someone who cares deeply. I bring warmth, openness, and a genuine curiosity about what it means to be human.

I believe therapy isn鈥檛 about 鈥渇ixing鈥 鈥 it鈥檚 about understanding, connecting, and growing into the person you鈥檙e meant to be.

Outside the therapy room, I recharge through reading, walking my dog in nature, and spending time with friends. These small joys help keep me grounded and remind me of the importance of self-care 鈥 something I encourage in those I work with, too.

Practice description

A therapy session with me as a psychodynamic psychotherapist, is an opportunity for deep exploration and understanding. I create a warm and inviting atmosphere where you can feel safe to share your thoughts and feelings. Whether we meet in person or online, my focus is entirely on you and your unique experiences.

Psychodynamic psychotherapy is an effective approach to therapy that helps people understand how their past experiences, influence their present thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.

There may be things in your unconscious that you鈥檙e not aware of and are painful or keeping you stuck. As your psychodynamic therapist will help you look for these patterns in a safe space and understand them.

We will find that hidden knot so you can start unravelling the strands and move on with your life.

In sessions, I will sit with you in these moments. Sit without trying to fix, or rescue you.

We will discuss your current concerns, but also explore deeper emotional issues, often connecting how you respond to things now with past experiences. We will dive into the underlying causes of distress, such as unresolved feelings, hidden emotions, or internal conflicts.

I tailor my approach to your specific needs, whether you鈥檙e looking for short-term support or a longer-term exploration of your emotional landscape.

Through this process, you'll gradually become more self-aware, better understand your motivations and reactions, and feel more in control of your emotional world. This deeper awareness often leads to lasting changes in how you relate to yourself and others.

My specialities and passions lie in supporting the LGBTQ+ community and those who identify as neurodiverse. I provide a safe and welcoming space for queer and trans individuals, where you can feel fully accepted, understood, and supported in exploring and addressing the unique challenges you may face.

My first session

If therapy is something you might think of, feel free to contact me.

At the beginning, we will then arrange an Initial assessment of 90 minutes. This assessment is our first session where we can take some time to know each other. It is an opportunity for you to share your concerns, background, and what you hope to achieve through therapy. This will help me understand your needs and allow us to work together to create a plan that is right for you.

If we were to work together, we would agree on a time that works for both of us and meet for the regular sessions.

I work with a wide range of life challenges, including relationships, low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, loss, trauma, and addictions.

My specialties and passions lie in supporting the LGBTQ+ community and those who identify as neurodiverse. I provide a safe and welcoming space for queer and trans individuals, where you can feel fully accepted, understood, and supported in exploring and addressing the unique challenges you may face.
