About me and my therapy practice

I offer a warm, supportive and confidential space where you can talk openly about what may be troubling you. People come to therapy for many reasons, including anxiety, trauma, depression, relationship difficulties, ADHD, low self-esteem, or feeling stuck in patterns that are hard to change. My aim is to help you feel heard, understood and supported as we explore what may be happening beneath the surface.

I work as an integrative counsellor, which means I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches and tailor therapy to your individual needs rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. My work is informed by psychodynamic, Gestalt, transactional analysis and mindfulness-based perspectives, helping us explore emotions, past experiences and relational patterns that may be influencing how you feel today.

Alongside insight-based work, I may also integrate trauma-informed approaches such as Brainspotting and IEMT (Integral Eye Movement Therapy) to help process difficult experiences and emotional patterns that may feel stuck. These approaches can support deeper emotional processing and help regulate the nervous system.

I offer both short-term and longer-term therapy depending on your goals and what feels most helpful for you. Our work together is collaborative and paced according to your needs. I aim to create a compassionate, respectful and non-judgemental environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings safely and at your own pace.

Starting therapy can sometimes feel daunting, especially the first session. My intention is to help you feel at ease from the beginning and to support you in developing greater understanding, resilience and emotional wellbeing.

Practice description

I understand that starting therapy, particularly the first session, can sometimes feel daunting. My aim is to offer a compassionate and approach from the beginning, creating a safe and empathic space where you can talk openly, explore your emotions, and feel heard and understood.

Our sessions last 50 minutes and usually take place weekly. The first session is an opportunity for us to talk about what has brought you to therapy, what you hope to gain from the process, and whether working together feels like the right fit for you. There is no obligation to continue after this initial meeting.

In our sessions we will work at a pace that feels comfortable for you. Some clients come with a specific issue they would like to focus on, while others prefer to explore their experiences more gradually. There is no pressure to share more than you feel ready to.

I see therapy as a collaborative process. My role is to listen with care and curiosity, supporting you as we explore your experiences, emotions and patterns together. Through this process, many people begin to gain greater insight into themselves, develop new perspectives and feel better equipped to navigate life’s challenges.

My intention is to offer a respectful, warm and non-judgemental environment where you can feel safe to reflect, grow and move towards greater emotional wellbeing.

My first session

The first session is an opportunity for us to meet, talk about what has brought you to therapy and explore what you would like support with. It is also a chance for you to get a sense of how I work and whether you feel comfortable working with me.

During this session I may ask some gentle questions to understand your current situation, any relevant background, and what you hope to gain from therapy. There is no pressure to share more than you feel ready to. You are welcome to ask any questions you may have about therapy or the way I work.

We will also talk about practical aspects such as confidentiality, how sessions work, and what might be most helpful for you moving forward. Some people come with a clear focus they would like to work on, while others may simply want a space to talk and reflect. Both are completely welcome.

At the end of the session we can decide together whether continuing to work together feels like the right fit. If we do continue, sessions are usually held weekly and last 50 minutes.

If you are considering therapy but feel unsure, you are very welcome to get in touch and we can discuss any questions you may have.
