Hello and welcome to Navigate Ahead Counselling. My name is Nasreen/Naz. I am a qualified integrated counsellor and a registered member of the Â鶹ԭ´´ (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy).

Everybody experiences times in their lives when they feel depressed or anxious, or when things seem overwhelming and challenging. For example, this might be related to issues at work, relationships, family dynamics, illness, or loss. Seeking support from those we know can be helpful during these times, but it can also be beneficial to talk to someone who is not directly involved to gain a fresh perspective on the problem and how we might begin to address it. At this point, treatment may be helpful.

About me and my therapy practice

I am an integrated counsellor, and my primary approach is person-centred therapy, complemented by cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT).

To put it simply, I view counselling as a form of talk therapy. As a counsellor, I strive to be warm, responsive, and non-judgmental to create a supportive counselling relationship with you. This relationship is crucial, as it allows you to feel comfortable speaking openly, which in turn helps us build mutual trust.

In developing our counselling relationship, both of us have important roles to play; however, you will always be the most significant person in this dynamic.

I am committed to showing genuine interest in you. I am a registered member of the Â鶹ԭ´´ and bound to work to their ethical framework.

Practice description

You don’t have to know all the theory to start or complete your counselling journey, but if you are interested, my approach is grounded in the idea that people are inherently motivated towards positive psychological functioning. It is a non-directive form of talk therapy where you act as an equal partner in the process with your therapist.

Some benefits of counselling/therapy can include:

• Overcoming depression, anxiety, grief, or stress

• Identifying Emotional Distress and learning skills with CBT

• Achieving better self-awareness and managing emotions healthily

• Reducing feelings of guilt or insecurity

• Seeking and sustaining healthier relationships and  many more benefits

I always put your safety and what you need first; that's really important to me.

I'm always learning and improving my skills so I can give you the best support possible.

Thanks for reading about me. You can find out more about how I work on my website. Please get in touch if you think we could work well together. If not, I wish you all the best in the future and with everything you do. I see you as an individual and understand that everyone is unique.

My first session

I offer a free 15-minute initial consultation to help you make a decision about whether we move forward together or not.

The aim of this session is for us to find out a bit more about each other and help us to decide if I could be the right counsellor for you. There is no obligation or expectation to continue if we feel I’m not right for you.

If we decide to continue, we will then book our first session at a mutually convenient time.

You can stop your counselling at any time. Please look at the FAQs on my website for more information.

About me and my therapy practice

Hi, my name is Nasreen. I offer person-centered counselling, providing a private and secure environment for you to discuss your feelings and concerns while helping you identify behaviors that can assist in managing any issues. I create a safe, accepting, and confidential space where you can openly share whatever is on your mind. This allows us both to explore what is happening and why. As a result, your self-awareness may grow, enhancing your empathy and sense of self. With this understanding, you can take the right steps to address any discomfort.

I tailor the therapy to meet my clients' needs by using DBT—Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and mindfulness techniques

I listen attentively and with empathy, without passing judgment or criticism. I am dedicated to each client with the highest respect and understanding, regardless of their cultural, gender, racial, disability, or religious background. I have supported clients in overcoming such issues.

  •  Anxiety/depression
  • self-worth
  •  bereavement
  • work-related stress

Practice description

I just ask that my clients be as honest and open as possible so that our collaboration can be successful. I value our relationship because it will provide the foundation for a more thorough comprehension of your needs, which will foster consistency and trust. I understand that this could be difficult at first, but if sentiments of optimism have been lacking for some time, the emotional shift that happens once we meet may be both cleansing and satisfying.

I have a peaceful, gentle, and caring attitude, and I'm driven to help those in difficulties. offering you a safe space where you may completely explore and learn about yourself as you follow your unique path of healing and development, feeling more self-assured and accepted.

My first session

I offer a free, no-obligation consultation for 15 minutes before we start working together so that we can talk casually about your needs and how they will be satisfied.

In order to assist you in moving forward, we will talk about your goals for therapy and collect information together. A mutual contract will be signed if we determine that I am the best therapist for you.
