About me and my therapy practice
As a mature, qualified Integrative Counsellor/Psychotherapist, I draw upon a variety of theoretical approaches and techniques to meet your unique needs. This allows you to work in a way that feels right for you.
Driven by compassion and empathy my intention is to hear you and provide a safe space for you to explore how and why you feel the way you do.
From a long career working in the health (NHS), social care sector and mental health sector and from my voluntary work with Samaritans and Hospice/Palliative care roles, I have supported adults between 18 and 106 across a variety of diverse backgrounds, culture and experiences.
In my counselling career I specialize in supporting individual adults and couples through a broad range of challenges.
My expertise encompasses areas such as adverse childhood experiences, abuse, trauma, loss and bereavement, relationship difficulties, low self esteem/self-worth and difficulties navigating life’s transitions and challenges.
I also work with a variety of emotional well being issues including but not limited to stress, anxiety, depression and anger.
Having lived experience of emotional, physical and relational difficulties, I have benefitted from the restorative power of therapy. This inspired me to become a counsellor.
I am therefore committed to being honest, open and supportive throughout your therapy to bring about the positive change you deserve and move towards a fulfilled authentic life.
