About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Chris Espinelli, a Qualified Integrative Counsellor and Level 5 CBT Therapist based in West Yorkshire and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MÂ鶹Դ´).
I am an integrative therapist with a strong commitment to seeking the best available evidence to support your unique needs and help you thrive.
My professional experience includes working with women who are facing emotional challenges — whether they’re recovering from toxic relationships, dealing with the impact of divorce, feeling lost in their careers, or struggling with anxiety, low self-esteem, or depression.
I worked in organisations as organizations such as Together Women Leeds, RASAC ( Kirklees Rape and Sexual Abuse Center) and Marie Curie Bradford.
This diverse background has given me a deep understanding of mental health challenges and disorders, allowing me to work with a wide range of issues, from anxiety and depression to identity exploration, neurodivergence, and emotional literacy.
I work with women who feel overwhelmed in relationships, disconnected from themselves, or stuck in cycles of people-pleasing and self-doubt. Together, we focus on developing emotional clarity, setting healthy boundaries, and building lasting inner strength.
My aim is to help you explore what’s important to you, support you in overcoming the challenges you face, and empower you to move forward in a way that aligns with your values and aspirations.
If you're looking to reconnect with who you are and move forward with more confidence and direction, therapy with me can be a powerful and practical starting point.
My professional experience spans abuse and refugee center, palliative care and mental health organizations, where I have supported individuals facing a broad spectrum of challenges, including anxiety, emotional regulation, identity development, and complex mental health disorders.
Practice description
I work collaboratively with you to understand the core issues you're facing. By exploring how you see yourself, your relationships with others, your values, and beliefs, we can create a deeper understanding of the patterns that are impacting your life.
This insight allows me to select the most appropriate evidence-based techniques tailored to your situation, to ensure the care and support I offer are the most effective.
My work style is to offer a unique blend of emotional support, practical strategies from CBT evidence based therapy, and personal empowerment.
My main focus is to provide a safe environment and non-judgemental. My approach is culturally and religiously sensitive and my ultimate goal is to help my clients to be emotional independent, build confidence in themselves, set healthy boundaries, recover from people pleasing and finally to have a better life.
My approach is also compassionate, yet strategic, ensuring you have the tools and confidence to move forward.
Now I would like to you to Imagine a life where you can confidently say "no" without guilt, where your boundaries are respected, where you no longer feel pressured to please others at the expense of your own happiness. You started to accept who you are and understand your potential, and you will have a better relationship, happy and healthy with yourself.
Could you picture it? Trust me, it is possible and you can do it.
My first session
The first session is an important initial assessment where we’ll take the time to get to know each other. It’s your opportunity to share what’s going on in your life, what challenges you're facing, and what you're hoping to achieve through therapy. I’ll gather information to help us understand the core of what you're struggling with, so we can develop a tailored treatment plan that works for you.
During this session, there’s no pressure—you can go at your own pace. Together, we’ll explore your history, emotions, and goals, which will guide us in crafting a clear path forward. The aim is to identify your strengths and areas where you'd like to see change, ensuring we create a plan that feels right for you.
If you have any concerns or are unsure about something, don’t hesitate to ask—this session is all about making you feel heard, comfortable, and supported. Let’s take this first step toward positive change—together.
