About me and my therapy practice
I am an Integrative Psychotherapist offering a supportive space from which to help you explore your challenges and achieve meaningful change. I work face to face and online. I use various approaches to help those I work with develop a deeper understanding of their situation and to find more effective ways to move forward.
My approach is interactive, supportive and encouraging. How I work and what we would focus on will depend on your situation. Generally, I find it important to explore an individual’s past, to help them identify and make sense of emotions and to find new ways to think about their situation.
I typically meet people weekly however this can change depending on your needs and preferences.
I commonly support individuals dealing with:
• Relationship difficulties
• Anxiety and depression
• Work-related stress and burnout
• Emotional
• Life transitions and personal growth
Practice description
Everyone is different and I am interested in what will work for you, and what you are hoping to gain from working together. Frequently, this involves exploring how past experiences affect the present, making sense of events, connecting with emotions, and processing experiences.
The pace at which we work together will be led by you and it will be firstly important for us to form a good, trusting relationship. Lasting change often takes time and is helped by creating an accepting, safe, warm and supportive environment.
From my training in Integrative Psychotherapy, I take a Humanistic approach and use principles from Existential and Psychodynamic therapies. I have also received training in Mindfulness and Transactional Analysis, which inform how I work. Additionlly, I have a background in organisational psychology and coaching which means that I have a good understanding of the stresses and challenges one may face working within organisations, with teams and other work-related pressures. I have personal interests in Buddhism and yoga which also inform how I work.
Rates: £50 online, £60 face-to-face for 60mins
My first session
I understand that taking the step to start a therapeutic relationship with someone is an important one, which involves your time, energy, emotion and money. I therefore believe that before making this investment, it will be important for you to be as informed as possible, so that you can make the right decision about whether you would like to work with me.
After initial contact, I will arrange a time for us to have a telephone conversation which will be the opportunity to discuss what brings you to therapy, your expectations and your current situation. You will be able to ask questions and we will also discuss some practicalities, such as where and when we may meet.
Session length: 30 mins (Free)
