Availability
Your well-being is my priority, and I strive to make our counselling sessions as accessible and convenient for you as possible. Currently, I offer face-to-face sessions on Friday afternoons and evenings, providing a comfortable space for us to connect and explore your concerns. Additionally, I provide telephone and online counselling throughout the week, with flexible scheduling to accommodate your busy lifestyle.
In the event that I am unavailable for a session, whether due to unforeseen circumstances or planned time off, rest assured that I will notify you as soon as possible. Your time is valuable, and you will not be charged for in these instances. Transparency and open communication are central to our therapeutic relationship, and I am committed to keeping you informed every step of the way.
Please note that I typically take two weeks off over the Christmas period, one week during Easter and some time off during early autumn. These breaks allow me to recharge and maintain the high quality of care that you deserve. During these times, I will work with you to reschedule appointments or provide alternative support options to ensure continuity of care.
About me and my therapy practice
Counselling in York 鈥 Anxiety, Trauma, ADHD & Autism Support
Life can feel heavy when you鈥檙e anxious, exhausted or stuck in unhelpful patterns. You might be struggling with low mood, overthinking or the lasting impact of difficult thoughts and experiences. Perhaps you鈥檙e living with ADHD or autism and finding it hard to balance your needs in a world that isn鈥檛 built for them.
I鈥檓 a 麻豆原创-registered counsellor offering in-person sessions in York and online therapy across the UK. My approach is warm, collaborative, and neuro-affirmative; I work to create a space where you can be completely yourself, without judgement or pressure.
Counselling can help with:
- Anxiety, stress or panic
- Depression and low self-worth
- Relationship and family issues
- Trauma, loss and emotional overwhelm
- Burnout, ADHD and autistic experiences
My philosophy for therapy is that it鈥檚 not about 鈥渇ixing鈥 you, but about deepening self-understanding. By building self and relational awareness, we start to see the patterns we鈥檝e been unconsciously following - the automatic responses and learned ways of coping. With that awareness comes choice: the ability to grow, respond and change in more intentional, balanced ways.
I work gently and at your pace, combining humanistic and relational therapy with elements of CBT and parts work where helpful. For neurodivergent clients, I adapt communication and session structure to suit your needs, so therapy feels accessible and supportive.
Evening appointments are available, and I offer a free 15-minute phone or video consultation to help you decide whether we鈥檙e a good fit.
If you鈥檙e seeking counselling in York or online support for anxiety, trauma, or neurodivergence, please get in touch - you don鈥檛 have to face things on your own.
Practice description
Utilising an integrative framework, I draw on a variety of therapeutic modalities, including humanistic counselling, CBT and solution-focused approaches. This allows me to tailor my interventions to your unique needs and preferences, creating a holistic and personalised treatment plan. By blending these modalities, you'll get a comprehensive experience that addresses all aspects of your well-being鈥攎ental, emotional and behavioural.
Together, we'll explore your challenges and goals, identifying strategies that resonate with you. Whether it's delving into the root causes of your issues, developing practical coping skills or envisioning a brighter future, our sessions will be guided by your unique journey and aspirations.
Through our partnership, we'll navigate obstacles and pave the way for positive change. I believe in your resilience and capacity for growth, and together, we'll empower you on your path towards healing and fulfilment. Collaboratively, we'll find ways to help you move towards a more meaningful, and peaceful, life.
My first session
During our initial session, you can expect a warm and welcoming environment where we'll embark on the journey of understanding your needs and goals. Prior to this, I offer a complimentary half-hour consultation session, either over the phone or online, where we can briefly connect and discuss your concerns.
In your first paid session, we'll dive deeper into getting to know each other. We'll discuss your reasons for seeking counselling, your hopes for our work together and any specific aims you may have.
To ensure that our collaboration is effective, we'll undertake a brief assessment to gain a clearer understanding of your current situation and identify areas that may require attention. This will help us tailor our approach to meet your unique needs and preferences.
Throughout, you are encouraged to share openly and honestly about your experiences, thoughts and feelings. Your input is invaluable in shaping the direction of our work together as we explore potential strategies and interventions that align with your goals and values.
By the end of the session, we'll have collaboratively developed a plan for how we'll work together moving forward. This may include setting specific ambitions, outlining the frequency and duration of our sessions and any preferences or expectations you may have regarding the therapeutic process.
Overall, your first session is an opportunity for us to lay the groundwork for our therapeutic journey together.
