About me and my therapy practice
ADHD & Neurodivergent-Informed Integrative Psychotherapist (MÂ鶹Դ´)
Skelmersdale | Southport | Online Therapy
Hello, I’m Cheryl, an MÂ鶹Դ´ registered Integrative Psychotherapist offering ADHD-informed therapy for adults (18+). I am based in the Preston area and work online, as well as face-to-face in Skelmersdale and Southport.
You may be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, emotionally exhausted or disconnected from yourself. Perhaps you struggle with self-doubt, people-pleasing, or often feel as though you are not coping in the same way that others seem to. You may also be living with ADHD, exploring a diagnosis, or identifying as neurodivergent and feeling worn down by the demands of daily life.
You don't need to know what to say, or have a plan of action, you are simply invited to come as you are. I offer a warm, empathic and non-judgemental space where you can pause, take a breath, and begin to explore what is really going on for you.
Practice description
I am an integrative Psychotherapist, meaning I tailor therapy to you as an individual rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach. I do not believe that I am here to fix you. Instead, therapy is a collaborative process where we work together to develop understanding, self-awareness and choice.
My focus is on building a safe therapeutic relationship where meaningful dialogue and self-reflection can take place. We may explore what is happening for you in the present, and where appropriate, gently look back at past experiences and relationships to understand how these may still be influencing how you feel, think and respond today.
I also integrate Polyvagal Theory to facilitate exploration and understanding of nervous system states. Through deeper self-understanding, many clients find they are able to regulate emotions more effectively, recognise and change long-standing patterns, and feel more able to cope with life.
I have a particular interest in working with neurodivergent adults, especially those living with ADHD, and I also bring lived experience of ADHD to my work.
You may be newly diagnosed, exploring a late diagnosis, or questioning whether ADHD could be part of your experience. You might feel caught in cycles of emotional overwhelm, reactivity, burnout, shame or self-criticism, or feel exhausted from masking and trying to fit into a predominantly neurotypical world.
I offer neurodivergent-affirming therapy that recognises the emotional impact of these experiences and supports you in developing greater self-acceptance, emotional regulation and clarity.
Offering a calm, supportive therapeutic relationship where you can speak openly and be fully heard. I work at your pace, honour your autonomy and lived experience, and provide space for you to explore and process your thoughts, feelings and emotions safely and compassionately.

About me and my therapy practice
Are you feeling overwhelmed by anxiety and strong emotions? Do you have low self-esteem and never feel 'good enough'? Is this getting in the way of relationships and stopping you from living the life that you want? Perhaps you find yourself caught in a relentless cycle, inundated by intense emotions, leaving you uncertain about how to navigate through them. Or maybe you find yourself reacting rather than responding to situations, resulting in stress and exhaustion, yet feeling confused about the root cause and how to initiate change. You are not alone.
Hi, I’m Cheryl, an MÂ鶹Դ´ registered therapist, offering a safe space for you to come as you are. I offer a safe, empathic environment, where you can freely say the things you may have felt unable to say before without judgement. Throughout your therapeutic journey, I will walk alongside you, honouring your autonomy, and experiences, and providing you with the space to explore and process your thoughts, feelings and emotions at your own pace and be fully heard.
It could be that you have received a diagnosis of ADHD and are now struggling to untangle the implications of this on your life both past and present, and the complex emotions that accompany this.
Practice description
As an Integrative Psychotherapist, my focus is on seeing you as a whole person, establishing a relationship and creating a safe space facilitating meaningful dialogue and self-reflection. I do not believe that there is a one size fits all approach, nor do I believe that I am here to ‘fix’ you. Instead, I am able to draw on different therapeutic theories and models to suit your individual needs. I will work collaboratively with you, listening to your needs so that you can work out what it is that you want.
I work to establish a relationship within which you can explore what is happening for you in the present, but also, if appropriate, look back to consider how past experiences and relationships may still be affecting you.
The aim of therapy is to deepen your understanding of yourself, and how you experience and show up in the world. With deeper understanding comes choice and the ability to change deep-rooted patterns and habits. I hope that through our work together, you will be able to reconnect with yourself, gain greater self-acceptance and emotional regulation, enabling you to feel a sense of balance and the ability to ‘cope’ with life.
Qualifications
- Post Graduate Diploma Integrative Psychotherapy (Level 7 - UCLAN, Distinction)

I work with adults (over 18) experiencing a wide range of issues but my area of special interest centres around neurodivergence and navigating the multifaceted nature of living with ADHD and neurodiversity, and the emotional impact of living in a predominantly neurotypical world.
