About me and my therapy practice
If you’re looking for quality individual therapy sessions with a certified psychotherapist that cares, then you’ve come to the right place. I believe that therapy is a collaboration; I am supportive of my clients every step of the way but believe that the most important part of the work is done by YOU as you develop self-knowledge, reflection and find ways to navigate life's most complicated matters.
Practice description
My ethos is to provide professional and compassionate counselling and psychotherapy services. Underpinned by a psychodynamic belief that the present and future are absolutely interlinked with the past, and that much of our current thought and behaviour are patterns we unconsciously follow. Therapy is a brave adventure where a client must be supported to explore their emotions and work towards understanding themselves and their issues. It is essential to provide a safe and supportive environment --bounded by a clear and ethical framework, at Clavis Counselling, sessions are tailored to meet each client's individual needs as they seek clarity and pursue well-being.
My first session
Research has consistently shown that it is neither the theory nor the style of therapy that makes a difference-- it is the relationship between counsellor and client. Meeting before you make the commitment to work with me is essential, and hopefully we can discover whether or not we are a good therapeutic fit. Book a free, introductory appointment today and see how we can work together. This will be a phone or video 20 minute appointment.

Practice description
I am a psychodynamic therapist and have particular interest in working with people who have experienced trauma, chronic pain and illness, as well as those hoping to break generational patterns of attachment and care.
I am currently completing a supervision course (you can find out more about that here https://www.cosca.org.uk/application/files/4315/2119/6872/Course_Outline__for_COSCA_Supervision_Course_May_201705-09-17.pdf)
I am looking to offer supervision as part of my practical hours. Supervisees would be colleagues who are already in practice or trainees who have a main supervisor that they work with currently)
There is no need to be any specific modality to be a supervisee. The work will be have a solid ethical and professional framework, and hold to the boundaries of best practice and duty of care—what happens within that container will not be structured as such, however. Sessions will be predicated on what is agreed with the supervisee and what they are hoping to get from the work.
My first session
In the first instance, there needs to be a good fit. Once that is agreed between both parties, we can proceed as best helps the supervisee, and by extension your clients.

Long term sessions, Long-term face-to-face work, Online therapy, Short term sessions, Short-term face-to-face work, Time-limited
