About me and my therapy practice
Welcome.
Are you feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or just unsure of who you are anymore? Do you feel there’s a struggle between the many roles you have in your life?
My name is Maddy and I provide support to individuals facing personal and emotional struggles. I have a deep interest in all relationships within the family, and particularly in the physical and emotional journey of being a parent or caregiver.
I am an experienced relational counsellor offering face to face and online therapy for individuals in Brighton & Hove
I am committed to being part of a world where we are all valued, respected, and empowered to succeed and recognise that women often face unique challenges – social, cultural, and structural – that can make this journey difficult.
Sometimes the hardest part is reaching out. You can email or call me directly, whichever feels easier.

Practice description
I practice therapeutic counselling for adults, which focuses on exploring how your past relationships such as childhood or more recent past relationships might be continuing to affect you as an adult today. This can often happen without us being fully aware that these past patterns of learning and influence are ongoing.
Whilst working together we may touch on:
- Events in your past and what sense you made of them.
- The story of your past and how you were brought up.
- Your current ways of relating to others and what these may mean.
- Your internal world and how it feels inside.
- Dreams and fantasies.
My first session
I offer open-ended or shorter-term counselling – we can work together for as long as it feels helpful.
Get in touch and arrange a free 20-minute chat either online or on the telephone which lets us get an idea about each other. Then, if you choose to go ahead, we can book a 50-minute introductory session.
This first intro meeting is for you to share whatever it is that’s bringing you to counselling and to explore whether we would like to work together. It’s okay if you don’t have a specific problem in mind, it might just be a feeling that something is just not going well, or you feel stuck in a rut.
There is no commitment to continue after this first session, but once we have met and agreed to work together, I will offer you a weekly slot for your sessions. If you would like to take this up, I ask that you let me know within a few days.
