About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Ella, a qualified integrative counsellor and registered member of the Â鶹Դ´. I offer a warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where you can feel safe to explore whatever’s on your mind. My practice is based in Bridgwater, Somerset, and I work both in-person and online with adults, children, and young people.
I understand how difficult it can be to take the first step into counselling – whether you’re struggling with anxiety, low mood, intrusive thoughts, or life simply feels overwhelming, you don’t have to face it alone. My aim is to walk alongside you, helping you to make sense of what you’re feeling and to find a way forward that feels right for you.
As an integrative therapist, I draw on a range of approaches and tailor our work together to suit your individual needs. My core way of working is humanistic – meaning I believe that everyone has the potential for growth and healing when given the right support.
I have a special interest in working with children and young people, using creative, age-appropriate methods to help them express themselves and build emotional resilience in a supportive and safe environment.
Practice description
I offer a calm, confidential space where clients can feel heard, valued, and supported. I work with adults, children, and young people, and tailor each session to suit the needs of the individual. My aim is to build a trusting, collaborative relationship where you feel safe to explore whatever is troubling you at your own pace.
Sessions last 50 minutes and can take place in person in Bridgwater or online, depending on what works best for you. I take a flexible, integrative approach to therapy, drawing on different models to support your emotional wellbeing. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, low mood, intrusive thoughts, or something harder to put into words, I will meet you with empathy and respect.
When working with children and young people, I use creative and age-appropriate methods, such as play, drawing, and storytelling, to help them process their emotions and develop healthy coping strategies. I also welcome collaboration with parents and carers where appropriate, to ensure consistent support outside of sessions.
Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting, but I strive to make the process as approachable and comfortable as possible. You’re not alone—and support is here when you’re ready.
My first session
Before booking a first session, I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation. This gives us a chance to briefly connect, discuss what you’re looking for, and answer any questions you may have – with no obligation to continue. It’s important that counselling feels like the right fit for you or your child.
The first full session is a gentle introduction to therapy, where we explore what’s bringing you to counselling and what you’d like to get out of our work together. I may ask some initial questions to better understand your needs, but there’s no formal assessment process.
For children and young people, I may also speak briefly with a parent or carer, depending on the age and situation, to ensure a supportive and collaborative start.
